Not really sure how all of this works. :/

Well, I'm making another track right now, and it's pretty great. But I'd like to make a... cinematic section. Basically a sattelite falling from the sky and exploding! But, When I set the area trigger event, to the sound of an alarm, and the camera they both stay on! I guess i'm having camera issues mainly. Also how would I make the satelite smash down to the earth? Can you change the terrain after something like that with a trigger? So, like after it hits a crater is made? Basically if I can get a bit of help with this one we'll have an awesome track to play! I'm on Ps4.

Hey, I may not have an infinite knowledge of all things editor related, but I can suggest courses of action to achieve this satellite goal of yours. First, to simultaneously create a "cinematic" camera pan and alarm at the same time you could create your area trigger, then link that to an impulse-splitter and then to both a sound event and camera event. Also, your satellite crash can be done with an object position event and linear data source (and interval trigger?) that become enabled whenever you choose to send your makeshift object hurdling towards the earth. As for the crater the satellite makes, you can have an impact crater already present but covered with a metallic/rock/concrete flooring and then have this piece vanish upon the satellites animated contact to simulate the object causing the crater.

That sounds awesome! I tried using the method that you had said earlier, but the camera just stayed on, it never turned off. I wish I knew how to use this editor a bit better. I know how to make anything in Little Big Planet. :P haha But these tools are a bit different for sure, so I have to try to understand how they work. -.- At least in LBP, the tools were pretty darn self explanatory. But so far, looks like you have the right idea. The track is actually pretty tough, I'm trying to decide if I want the rider to freeze for a second while it happens or not though. If I do it that way it could be pretty cool. I'll take and watch the editor tutorials again, and see if I can make some sense of all of this. Then, well if anyone is on PS4, I guess you can see the track when I'm done! I don't think the tracks cross over, I don't exactly know if they do. It sure would be cool though!

Oh, I've been watching those, it just isn't making too much sense with the Data sources and such. I wish I could get one camera to activate when you drive through the sensor box, and have it stay on for a period of time, and then go back to the game camera with a smooth transition. But the second I wire the thing up to a camera event it stays on. I tried using a secondary sensor box, to the game camera, but that just snapped back to it. Sigh... Confusing tools for sure, I'm sure when I get to know them and understand how they work I won't have any issues. Mainly for me, I'm just wishing for the ease of use and understanding with the tools that Little Big Planet games had.

never had the chance to play little big planet

    but here are some ways
-just place a camera make sure its enabled (make sure its on interpolate and not cut) modify the range(this will make the game automaticly switch camera's if its close enough)
-instead of a camera event you can uses a set event that feeds a variable datasource(1 (on) or 0 (off))now you go to your 2 camera use a s game camera, press y and select the variable datasource
now you can use area triggers to turn the camera on and off through the set event

make sure both cameras are interpolating for smooth transitions, not sure if your issue now is just the cut vs interpolation or something else , its been a while since i used cameras like that

A state event can turn almost everything on & off, including cameras.
Combine it with delay filters & your good to go.

Thanks guys! Hopefully I can have the level up and running on Ps4 soon. But if you're not on Ps4 I'll be sure to take some footage of the track itself. If I have any more issues regarding this, I'll be sure to let you know.

I GOT IT TO WORK! Well the camera section anyways, I'm sure for the rest of it it won't be that tough. THANK YOU GUYS SOOO MUCH! I just used an area trigger, wired into a impulse splitter, one ent went to a state event labelled "on" and the other to an impulse delay to turn the camera off. The camera didn't even need to be enabled for this, and the transitions are smooth. Now all I gotta do is make the satellite, have the camera maybe follow it as it crashes down, cause the game to freeze the player/bike for this. Make a bunch of objects that are glued together break, and voila! It will be perfect. I'll upload a video when I get it just perfect and then finish working on my track. Hopefully I'll have the whole thing done by Monday if anyone on Ps4 would like to check it out.
