Far Cry 4 gameplay footage shows co-op, grapple hook, kicking
Invite your PSN friends to play even if they don't own the game!
A brand new Far Cry 4 gameplay trailer has revealed the game's co-op mode, the grappling hook tool, the ability to kick and shown those stomping elephants in action.
And best of all, you can invite your PSN friends to join you playing the game even if they don't own it, Ubisoft said on Sony's E3 stage. This is a PlayStation-only feature (for PS3 and PS4).
The co-op mode begins dynamically when a friend joins your game. But when they join, all solo missions are turned off and you're left with only the open world.
Still, hopping on the back of a tiny buzzer helicopter - effectively a one-man vehicle - and raining down bullets on a base looked like fun. This also enraged the nearby elephants, which charged into and wrecked anything in site - something you can also experience while riding them, apparently.
The footage also revealed the ability to drive and shoot at the same time, as well as leap from the driver's seat (of a tuk-tuk in this case) and onto - and then into - another vehicle.
We also saw a return of the wingsuit, which is put to even better use in the mountains, and saw how - for the first time in a Far Cry game - you will be able to be attacked from above by eagles.
We saw the new auto crossbow weapon as well, which trades distance for rapid fire. It was in this section that the kick ability was demonstrated, as a bomb was strapped to a barrel and hoofed at an enemy.
Far Cry 4 follows the story of Ajay Ghale, a boy who went to scatter his mother's ashes but got caught up in a civil war. Apparently Troy Baker - Booker from BioShock: Infinite and Joel from The Last of Us - will voice the game's murderous villain Pagan Min.
(Just realized KrAzY had linked the video in the FC4 Wishlist & Dapper had updated his previous video with both E3 Vids)![]()

Loving some of the new weapons on display, the kick feature is insane I really hope we get to use that in multiplayer. The early Far Cry games allowed us to shoot while driving, I am so glad they allowed that feature to come back - also the vehicle takedowns and exiting a vehicle to wingsuit (and if I heard correct doing a vehicle takedown from wingsuit) this is all new - again I hope this can be done in multiplayer, FC4 looks to be a whole lot more fun.

So glad wingsuit is back (would love to get the chance to place wingsuits in a multiplayer map, I expect a lot of vertical gameplay in multiplayer and to see players flying in at speed would be insane, the new grappling hook I am looking forward to using I remember that been a request in the forums for the last game.
Unsure how grappling hook could work fully in Multiplayer - maybe the player would lose a weapon to pick up / select the grappling hook and at the same time would then get access to other areas of the level which could give a valuable vantage point or shortcut - can we pull players off ledges with the grappling hook ? (Those who make escape type maps would love this item if we get it available to use with a map editor)
The Guns For Hire (2nd player joins is a superb addition) More info would be welcomed on this, is 2 players maximum or do we have an open free roam option like Red Dead Redemption where multiplayer is concerned ? (This could be very interesting) Can't wait to hear more about this feature. That new solo flying vehicle looks insane - the fact that another player can climb on and shoot from it is crazy.
FC4 looks to have a lot more vehicles / weapons and fun - cant wait. I just hope we get an editor and hope we get some of this insanity in multiplayer.
Looking forward to seeing how these become ride-able and what tricks / stunts can be done.
I honestly think Unity will be GoTY. Don't get me wrong, I love Far Cry, but Unity being next gen only really, REALLY shows.Originally Posted by NightGhost1994 Go to original post
Far Cry 4 Game Description.
Hidden in the towering Himalayas lies a country steeped in tradition and violence. You are Ajay Ghale, returning to the country of your birth, the lush forests and harsh snowcapped summits of Kyrat, to fulfill your mother’s dying wish of spreading her ashes. This striking and unpredictable country offers visitors opportunity and peril. You quickly find yourself caught up in a rebellion to overthrow the oppressive regime of Pagan Min, a man known as much for his sense of style and charisma as his cruelty and calculated brutality. Navigating the treacherous landscape, you find your fate increasingly determined by the choices you make because in Kyrat, every second is a story.
In Far Cry 4, you’ll conquer fortress outposts from the back of a six-ton elephant and take to the skies as you rain down explosives from the seat of your gyrocopter. The vertical landscape of the Himalayas isn’t just a pretty backdrop, but a playground that encourages the player to fight, hunt and explore, grappling up cliffs or launching into the air, plummeting to the valley below in a controlled free fall with your wing suit. You’ll carry with you a truly unique arsenal of weaponry that lets you play your way, whether it’s sniping, sneaking or all-out assault. When all else fails, animals can be your biggest allies or your greatest danger, as Kyrat’s wilderness delivers on the promise of a true open world anecdote factory.
For the first time in any Far Cry game, you’ll be able to hunt, fight and explore in the open world with a friend. With co-op Guns for Hire, you can invite a friend into your world to liberate towers, take over outposts and share in the spoils. Hurk, from the Monkey Business add-on content of Far Cry® 3, joins in the fight to take over Kyrat.
Gameinformer appear to be running a month long Far Cry 4 promotion with exclusive stuff.
The Far Cry 4 Digital Issue Is Live
How cool is that, not only can we ride an elephant and fire a gun while riding, the elephant itself can also pick people up with it's trunk and throw them like a wet turd while been ridden.
Some of us chat on facebook and in with the conversation Igniter (an old school & respected Pred player wrote)
Igniter RC - Game Informer released their new issue last night with FC4 as the cover story. One of the side bars was titled "Build your own outpost". They say there is a revamped version of the map creation tools. The writer saw a demo where someone created an outpost mission where they built a map and placed AI patrols and enemies.
Can anyone confirm that above & is there any more info reference the MP or Editor ?
That sounds like a Singleplayer Creator, something I've been hoping for since Late Far Cry 2, if this is true then I',m going to be a VERY HAPPY DapperOriginally Posted by FALLEN CHAMP Go to original post![]()
It would be superb if there is a mission creator which allowed up to 4 players, that way the hope would be that we could design all kinds of maps / levels.Originally Posted by DapperHayden007 Go to original post
Imaqgine crafting a race style map that has A.I. at strategic locations around the course / track, now that would make the race interesting especially if it had those crazy elephants trying to ram us.
We could create all kinds of stuff that way where you work together or even against each other by creating custom rules.
I really hope the game also has it's own multiplayer modes and the chance to create maps as before in the previous games (with the options needed to keep people happy)
Right now FC4 has blown me away, I was not excited for this at all but seeing what is on offer so far I believe the new setting will be far superior to even the tropical setting, Can't wait for multiplayer and editor info.
WE NEED SOME FAR CRY 4 FORUMS ASAP

Just look back onto Far Cry 2, the gameplay was clunky and pretty poor, but boy I had some of the BEST matches ever in a multiplayer game on there, especially when we chatted in a party and enforced some of the best teamwork ever into a game.
But then Far Cry 3 had the completely unplayable multiplayer but with much better controls, all they need to do for me to make the perfect multiplayer game for me is to combine the strengths of both Far Cry 2 and 3's multiplayer together and it would make the best Multiplayer game out there in my opinion.
I also want to say that if Far Cry 4 has some sort of singleplayer editor, then I will struggle to make a multiplayer map because I am a huge singleplayer fan and to have people play on my levels would be much more of a privilege than to have someone play on my Map, it adds more things for someone to review, such as the quality of the objectives in the level, the openness of the level, and then there's the other things to review like in any MP map, Layout, Detail, elevation of the map and many other things.
I am a person who makes maps because I want people to play them and be like "this is something new" or "this has something I have never seen in a game before" and having that sense of achievement when someone tells you they admire your map is by far the best feeling ever when it comes to gaming, even though I don't hear it very often (I don't expect to hear it)
Just like that time you told me about CHAMP, when you went to the Massive studio and you told me that a dev was talking to you about the Medusa, that was the most exciting feeling ever, knowing that my maps were getting recognized and talked about, that's the whole reason I make maps. (Man I think I've gone a bit off subject here) But having a console single player level creator on a game is something I have ALWAYS dreamed of and if Far Cry does that in Far Cry 4, I don't really have much care for it's multiplayer
Some of the features in Far Cry 4 have already blown me away, such as the vehicle takedown and the elephant riding! it's just awesome. Bringing back shooting from vehicles has also got me pumped to hoping vehicles return into Multiplayer and Ubisoft do their own little U turn on that one.
Far Cry 4 has A LOT of potential, I just don't want to get my hopes up too much until I have seen the Map Editor in use.
I also agree with you that we need our Far Cry 4 section of the forums setting up!![]()
