I'm a Trials fan. Always will be. But I haven't spent a penny on Frontier and I have no reason too unless they release a map pack... What about you guys?
Maybe you did it to upgrade the bikes? I've been doing that free too for now.. I still have 45 Diamonds and a 48 gas tank (level 33)
I also find the gas wait OK if 'm honest. I've played games with time restrictions for a while now (Modern war was my first, Clash of clans, boom beach etc) so Its not a biggy to me.
Don't believe I'm a fan? Look at my second most popular video on my Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/SquirrelCrispy/videos?sort=p&view=0&flow=grid
I did get the starter pack for like €2 (100k gold 200 diamonds, red bike skin), but haven't used the diamonds from it yet.
No intentions to buy more however.
I consider it a part of the challenge of the game to beat it without spending a dime. I love the gameplay, but I would never do anything to encourage such a morally corrupt monetization model as this game has (any IAP over $10 can only be there to prey on younger weak minds with no concept of what they are getting.. and they have $99 options!).
I would pay in an instant if they were to provide an honest, upfront price with fewer F2P hindrances (no fuel delays, no wait times). Their IAPs and F2P choice/implementation has destroyed all remaining respect I had for RL/Ubi.
Ya this game was great till the last update. This pricing is flat abusing their customers. I would have just paid for the game and with the new structure and no payout from the game at all I can't bring myself to play it. On top of that I'm letting everyone I know about it. 200 plus people in about a week and a half.Originally Posted by xitooner Go to original post
Greeeeeeedy programmers. To enjoy this game for what you would pay buy and xbox one or p4
Would have also preferred a set price for the game; $5 even $10. With that said I wanted to buy the Starter Pack as it seemed like a good value considering, however when they had the Uplay issue with the release of Watch Dogs I was unable to complete the purchase. Noticed from the forums I was not the only one with this problem. After a week customer service just got back to me with this:
Thank you for contacting Ubisoft Technical Support. The Starter Pack is only available for a limited amount of time after it is offered to you. Unfortunately I cannot make it available in your game again once this time limit has passed. I apologize for any inconvenience.
Oh well. Definitely not throwing money down on their regular IAP, they seem way over priced, but as with other games like CC, TSTO, Family Guy, etc, guess people are spending big $$Probably just play till I can finish Step into the Light, then call it quits? Fun game though just the IAP thing is a little annoying. Actually just about to purchase the Fusion Season Pass.
I spend money on the starter pack when I first got the game, as a kinda token donation to RL. But after seeing the nasty mechanics under the hood I decided to not spend any more money on principle.
Did the $2 or $3 starter pack and it really helped in terms of time spent on the game. I was able to respin and grab some bike blueprints and special items much faster.
Just a note about that... When you respin, you get to expand the wedge of the wheel even further. Some people i've chatted with didn't know that.
So of the 15 people who have voted only 3 have paid anything, and by the looks of it, we only spent the £2/$3 on the starter pack.
Though I guess some people must be paying cause it's still ranked around 65 in the earnings leaderboard on the itunes store.
In my opinion, asking 99$ or 89€ for a ios game is criminal. For 20€ i can play the full Trials Fusion on xbox with better graphics, with no limit, and with the editor, i can play a new track each day, so why whould i buy some gems for that price?
The man who buy something on this store is stupid!
