When i think about the current state of Fusion it makes me so sad.
It could have been, and potentially could still be, a good game but i don't know what's going on.
I think they are alienating the biggest hardcore trials players, which is such a shame.
And if this is gonna happen everytime Ubi launches a new game... I will be upset.
I'm not trying to be negative but TC is the longevity of the game in my eyes, with the way things are now - Fusion will not have that.
At least in my opinion. 6 DLC packs or not, i'd rather have a well functioning TC.
Well I am trying to be negative. 1 week (2 weeks?) of connection failure for an (almost) always-online game is pathetic and deserving of all the ridicule and anger it's generating... which isn't as much as it would be if the forum was half decent, and people could be bothered to sign in and be angry about it.
I don't care about the lack of activity on here and the constant complaining, in fact I'm glad to see it - I'd be a lot more annoyed at Fusion if it was business as usual and everyone was okay with it. I remember the thread where RL announced they were joining Ubi. There were so many people who saw this crap coming it's almost funny.
Saves me hundreds of hours of free time and however much money the dlc costs though, so cheers![]()
Yup. I didn't even go on the forums when I saw that Ubisoft bought RL but I still thought it was very concerning, however those concerns were reassuringly quashed when I played Evo. Now look... Sigh. I also like how with Track Central even the most basic things don't work. The highest rated weekly feed (which should be the 'go to' section of TC) is completely broken. The highest rated track in there is over a month old. I just.. I just don't...
It's been my observation that it seems like when a talented small studio gets bought out by a money monster, typically the next game is actually the best one yet, and then after THAT, things fall apart. It's as if it goes like this:
-developers make great games with great potential, but lack resources
-massive publishers sees this potential, buys them, then throws tons of money at them and says, "here's all the time and money you need. Reach your potential."
-then after that, it's all about milking the brand for all it's worth. As long as the product is percieved to be of the standard by most people, corners can be cut, and money can be saved.
Look at the burnout franchise. After they were bought by EA, they made burnout 3, the biggest leap in quality and IMO the best one they've ever made. Now, the franchise is trash(burnout paradise).
I can't remember other examples unfortunately lol. It would certainly bolster my claim. But, this was a thought I had a while back, and I forgot the other franchises...
Remember that evo was published by Microsoft not Ubi. Redlynx only joined Ubisoft late 2011? and Evo came out a few months after that - they would have had little to do with it until dlc.
Fusion is their first (excluding Ubi Shanghai's impressive evo port lmao) Fantastic track record so far, cant wait for the sequel in 10 months time
And here is the Joining Ubi thread I was talking about (I was one of the naive optimistic fools apparently hahaI welcome all abuse):

Shifty's first post is hilarious in hindsight and I like Fliptaco's post too.
Interesting theory there stillbreathn.
My view on this game so far, obviously on first playing I wasnt happy about the game, and I can understand everyones frustrations, but im keeping open minded that with all the updates and dlc it will hopefully be closer to Evo (Yes I know it should of been an upgrade to it, rather than still trying to catch up with it). I think its pretty easy to say Red Lynx had a very short time period to get this game out by Ubisoft and they couldnt get every feature in the game at launch, which obviously isnt great and not on at all, because you're paying for a game that has less features present compared to the last game in the series, plus changing some aspects that didnt need to be changed or altered.
I dont agree with some people's views that it is completely broke and unplayable, im still having fun playing it, and with added tweaks here and there will be even better, although I hate seeing all the tracks I cant play on TC because im on a different console to other amazing builders, but it's to be expected (although still wishing there can somehow, someway be a cross platform TC).
I suppose what my waffle is getting to is that we all know they are going to be improving it, and think some people on here need to be more patient (rather than expecting news every single day on here - when we know they are working on it) and then see what this game was meant to be at launch, rather than what it actually was. Its a shame they didnt build from EVO that we all expected, but like I said at the start, im open minded and confident that they will correct a lot of the game with our help and then most will then be happy.
Rob post incoming!
i have already said before that Fusion is a pretty decent game overall.
imo the worst console Trials ever, but at least its Trials. And i Love Trials.
What im mostly dissapointed by however is that this is an unfinished product.
Why couldnt they have finished the game first before releasing it, why the rush.
And why cant they just come out and at least admit that they released it too early.
And maybe tell us why. But at least admit it..
Forget TC for a second, this game doesnt even have Tournaments!
Trials HD came out in 2009 and has more tracks/events in the single player than Fusion.
Makes me sad really.
And no multiplayer either, another thing thats unforgivable in my opinion.
You cant drop a game without Multiplayer if the previous installment had a reasonably popular multiplayer.
Just doesnt make any sense whatsovever.
(Edit: But it does have multiplayer, its just not Finished)
Imagine if Ubisoft sold cars instead of games..
Ubisoft: "Heres your new car Sir!"
Customer: "But.. it only has 2 wheels"
Ubisoft: "We appreciate your patience while we work on adding the other two wheels.
We are fully commited to making your car better in the long run."
i Love Trials and i will try to continue to play Fusion when the updates come. (wtf else are we gonna play right? COD? LOL)
but i cant help but feel that its too late to really fix this game and turn it into a real Next-Gen Trials.
ive been gaming for a long time and ive NEVER seen a game drastically change with updates.
Hopefully the RedLynx team can do the impossible.
If not, hopefully Trials Revolution in 2016 will be the real Next-Gen Trials.
