once you unlocked every track and started upgrading your bikes you quickly discover more obstacles to progress which give you less incentive to play.
now that i have every track unlocked and got good times on most of them i find im stuck grinding for days to get enough parts to upgrade my bikes further only to realize after getting those bikes i still need several more days of grinding to get the coins to actually purchase the upgrade. Once ive done that i realize i have to wait 150+ hours for the upgrade to go into effect.
On top of that I still have more upgrades available for the bike but its going to take probably a week to acquire the parts and coins to do so.
Ive played this game like a fiend. playing whenever the slot machine is available and never having a full tank because im constantly playing before it can get full. I love playing tracks to improve my scores but now im starting to find i need more upgraded bikes to improve much further and when faced with such daunting grinds and excessive wait times once ive finished im less motivated to play. it was one thing when a bike maybe took a day or two to get all the parts and coins required but not its taking weeks. Its making me want to give up.
tonight is probably the first time i will actually go to bed with plenty of unused fuel in my tank. ill play the slot machine when its available because maybe i will get lucky and get some big coin payouts but otherwise whats the point?
this game is starting to lose me.
I'm almost the opposite. Now that I've finished all the quests, and forced grinds, I'm actually starting to have fun with the game (playing levels to improve my times).... except for the upgrading of course. they are a nightmare. I just tend to concentrate on the slot machine for money, then every so often I'll use a coin doubler and hit tank tops over and over until I use my tank up (sometimes doing a +1 refill mid way). There is a lot of money to be made on that track (800 per run).
My main goal was to get the Step in the Light suit for Fusion, so now I reached my "goal" and just play whenever I feel like when I am not near my PC.
Tanktops with the coin doubler, no faulting until you hit the final checkpoint gives you 798 or something like that, and since that track only costs 7 fuel, it's a great place to grind.Originally Posted by Hauserfritz Go to original post
its getting harder and harder to improve my times with my current bike stats and upgrades are all costing north of 100k so when i go to play sometimes i just sigh when i see how much longer i have to go just to get one more part upgraded. its so daunting ive stopped playing nearly as much.
Completely understand; but I wanted to say that you've done a good job getting yourself up the global leaderboard (#15 right now I think) with what you do have at your disposal so far!Originally Posted by sriskus Go to original post
I myself am just about at the quitting point as well. . . been moving on to other games/activities during the massive upgrade times, instead of grinding parts. Would like to poke over into top 10 if I could... but mostly just waiting around to see if any new tracks come along, and giving the 2-3 tracks I haven't platted another try....
thanks. ive just manged to 14th (13th minus the cheater) but really though i have no business being ranked that high and only goes to show how much this game has alienated its core base. In evolution and hd i dont think i ever cracked the top 1000 on any track. the reason im so high is most of the good players dont play this or stopped after experiencing the game in soft launch.
I'm slowing down now. I got in the top 100 on every track and think there is no point spending time learning any lines that I'm just going to have to relearn when I upgrade my bike further. So I'm casually doing the wheel quests to earn money and buying upgrades then sometime in the future I'll try racing properly again.
ha so you now see what i was talking about. it gets worse when you realize how much you have to play meaninglessly to get those resources for upgrades. i feel like im lucky to get enough coins to upgrade a single part once a week now.
