    Editor Problems, Fixes, Improvements - Help for Developers

    hey guys, i will try to show you every problem or things that dont work properly (in my opinion) i found so far in the editor. just finished with the Common category and will continue when i got my motivation back... i found much much more! but too see all those problems at once makes me very sad and angry at the same time really hope i didnt forgot something below. maybe someone can help me with the english explanations? i´m not speaking english very well, i guess. still learning it. btw this is a lot of work and could take a while - searching for those problems is not my job. i would appreciate any help. thanks for reading.

    • V1, V2, V3 etc. = Variant 1, Variant 2, Variant 3 etc.
    • Every problem i show you was found before title update #1 was out

    Common
    • Game
      • Arena cleaner: Texture problem on range lines
      • Area condition: Texture problem on range lines
      • Area selector: Texture problem on range lines
      • Camera: While showing editor icons during a testrun, you see the edges of the custom camera
      • Controller vibration: Missing option for duration. Its just active for like 4 seconds and will deactivate after that.
      • Emitter: Texture problem on range lines
      • Fail area (V1 - V7): Texture needs 50% Alpha like in Trials Evo to see whats behind it.
      • Object pointer: Should be placed at Triggers & Events / Data sources like the Object getter
      • Sound source: Missing "Reset on Checkpoint" option to uncheck
      • Sound source - looping: Missing "Reset on Checkpoint" option to uncheck

    • Explosives
      • Bomb
      • C-4 explosive (V1, V2)
      • Dynamite box
      • Land mines (V1, V2)
      • Missile
      • Red explosive barrel
      • Sea mine

        Every single explosive has nearly the same effect (that looks really boring compared to THD / TEvo) and we all know about the hitpoints problem already.

    • Lights
      • Hanging Light: Just a Pointlight, sould be a round spotlight
      • LED light strip: Just a Pointlight
      • Landing Light: No light at all
      • Stadium lights (V2): No light at all
      • Stadium lights (V3): Texture problem
      • Spotlight (V1, V4): Light problem
      • Spotlight (V2, V3): Texture problem
      • Street lamp twin: Light problem
      • Wall lights (V1 - V6, V10, V11): Light problem

        I could not recreate all the light problems in the video, sorry. Try it out for yourself! Btw this is not a a problem with terrain, it also happens on objects.

    • Decoration
      • Checkpoint mid: No variations like on real checkpoints
      • Rectangle (V1 - V20): Missing texture on backside and tone it doesent work properly
      • Round (V1 - V12): Missing texture on backside and tone it doesent work properly
      • Special (V1 - V8): Missing texture on backside and tone it doesent work properly

    • Physics tools
      • Area effector - Texture problem on range lines
      • Custom collisions: Texture needs 50% Alpha like in Trials Evo to see whats behind it

    This is a superb piece of work tom, carefully and logically laid out with excellent videos. I encourage the devs to sit down and pick through the whole thing very carefully - it all needs fixing.

    That's a pretty comprehensive list of problems you have there, good job finding them all. Personally, I've noticed that particle effects such as snow, fog, and rain will not appear through the glass sheet located in the plates category of common objects (appears to affect all variations of the glass sheet).

    Why this thread isn't a 'Sticky thread' !!?

    A lot of work dude, really hope the dev' check this one often !


    Btw, you can add to the list :
    - Add longer text in description/information for skill game
    - Set the medal/score of a skillgame with distance like that : "0.000m" and not only like that "0"
    - ADD MORE EXAMPLE OF TRACKS. There was a lot a example in trials evo, why on fusion there is only 3 example of tracks? It was very helpful.
    - Same for example objets

    I will try to repport more things later even if the patch will come out in 1 or 2 weeks




    EDIT:

    Bugs:
    - If we change the ground (with the tool 'ground modification'), when you are too far, the ground/texture is "normal"
    - The brightness of some objects are only "0 to 1" and not "0-1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9" (on 360)
    - Sometime, the even color change the entire color of an objet
    - The impulse don't workd with "No contact response"
    - We can't change the Advanced physic of some (BIG) objets (like building or rubble)
    - When we change something in the editor, the medals are reset.

    Suggestion:
    - Ability to change brightness of objets with the color event.

    i didnt put much effort in this, yet. maybe it will be sticky when we got more problems on the list... but at the moment i have not much motivation to search for the problems and upload more videos. maybe i will do something the next few days

    Directional forces: In evo when you changed the force to a negative number the direction of the force switched compared to a positive number. The area effector force still does this but this seems to be broken for the directional forces.

    Edit 1: A favorite with Glued objects still crashes the game when you try going in the favorite tab where it's saved

    - When you create a new layer, put some objects in, set the visibility off. Then when you make your track and press O (on ps4, aka cancel), the visility of the layer will be on.

    @bassline, i've had no issue using the directional force, even using it with a negative number, you do have to use these inside a glue group to function correctly, not 100% sure why, but my thoughts are it has no mass or physical form, its just a force. plus the ball end of the force is its origin.

    found an issue with layers and the glue pivot (as part of a glue group, although not test pivot by itself), when i changed a glue groups layer and hid the layer the items attached vanished as expected but the glue pivot was left behind and it also broke the rules i set up for the layer.
