This Idea just floated in my mind the other day. I thought it was kinda cool, and after thinking about it some more I thought I might share it.
Imagine If You Will. Popular user generated content on TC given an opportunity for a partnership. Much like Google's template for YouTube Partners. Implemented right I think that it would be a great feature to many games. For example top builders in the community who where offered a partnership would be given some tiny minuscule fraction of a penny per download. It could secure the longevity of TC content pleasing riders and builders alike. Bring in new talents to the editor with hopes of partnerships. Creating an even bigger global network of users and players. Making the partners into part time distant kinda employees. A next-gen touch if you will.
Yes, I know that the whole Idea is flawed from the get go, since YouTube's template works off an ad revenue, as far as I know. And as far as I know, non of us would like ad's in Fusion or any other games for that matter. So this most definitely will only ever exist in my imagination, & if you have stuck with me this far maybe yours too.
Flawed as it may be, an interesting thought... in my opinion.
There would be blood in the streets if this ever happened. It like a more serious version of people getting a wrench and being recognised as a great builder, and the non wrench holders who feel they should have being annoyed. Maximise that by about 50 if the chosen few were paid for their clique like status on a download basis. Also very open to abuse and you'd get people spamming their tracks out to the world like something rotten.
It's an interesting thought. I think it would work better like before (and i don't know if payment was involved) that community tracks were included in the DLC. (was that in HD? I can't remember)
But then I would only see this as an addition to RL pumping out their own tracks by their own employees. Community stuff should not be used to buff up DLC.
Sorry. Back on topic.![]()
I agree. It shouldn't actually happen, just a hypercritical. If it did, it would take the fun away changing the whole atmosphere of the game.Originally Posted by geordiedeviant Go to original post
Your wrench and non wrench holders comparison yes that would be a problem with the idea. One way around what you said, may be to have everyone as a partner and go off a tracks popularity and ratings etc rather than a specific group benefiting from the system. Leveling the playing field.
I don't know the whole idea was just a brain dropping, nothing serious. Thanks for reading
