And as long as you don't break the rules, that's how it works.

I appreciate the fact that some of the people in the community are that giving, and it's a cool story, but there seems to be a bit of negativity for the sole purpose of being negative. Maybe GAS wasn't super serious, maybe he had a rough patch, maybe there is some other set of circumstances that prohibited him from going out and making enough money to pick up a new controller. I know EXACTLY how that is. But the simple fact is that we don't know, it's not our business to know, and saying "Damn, bro. Get a job" seems like an ignorant thing to say if you don't know the facts regarding the situation, which we don't.

I remember threads like this before (I think i might even have started one claiming RedLynx had turned me into a monster of rage) and claiming they replace my 5th controller through overuse of trials.
They were all overlooked as jokes and taken as just that. A nice little venting of frustration. Nobody was going for the throat.

Fusion/UbiLynx/Frontier has brought out the nastiness in a lot of the community, old and new and it's not good for it. What was intended as a great thank you or celebration has now become people having a go at people. Good work!!

I personally took the initial OP as a kind of joke. emerica obviously missed it or just answered the call (being nice) and regardless of wether or not GAS needed the controller or not he's been the recipient of some amazing generosity. I trust he will pay it forward whenever possible.

EDIT - Admittedly I'm mostly talking about the original thread BTW, not this one.

It's definitely not for the purpose of negativity. It's to call GAS PRICES out on his laziness. He bumped the thread, and used the same hopeful sarcasm tone as was in the OP. He wouldn't have bumped it if he wasn't seriously hopeful something would come of it.

I didn't say "Damn, bro. Get a job", so I don't understand why you're putting words in my mouth. You don't need a job to get quick cash. You can find side jobs (friends, neighbors: there's always people willing to pay for help on a job) or he can sell things on eBay or Amazon. But he did nothing in that span of over a month to work towards getting a new controller.

Pretty negative to call someone lazy when you don't know all the particulars of a situation.

I didn't specifically say you in my post. But doing something in return for money is pretty much the definition of a job:

    job1
    jäb/
    noun
    noun: job; plural noun: jobs

    1. a paid position of regular employment.
    2. a task or piece of work, especially one that is paid.

My first post is still valid. Unless you know all of the details regarding his circumstances then you should be aware that you are coming across as aloof and/or derogatory. I only point this out because trolling is not allowed.

I love how shifty can post super condescending posts even stating the dictionary definition when it has nothing to do with xzample's post, when he himself tells people that negative comments makes them seem ALOOF and/or DEROGATORY....lmfao

Anywho...my opinion on this subject is that it's a good gesture that the guy gave gas prices a controller, regardless of whether the original post was a joke or not, trials has definitely been a close community. Although if the original post was sincere, then yes I agree with xzample. Knowing the general facts of a situation entitles people to garner the evidence which is basically common sense; and come to a conclusion...if we had to know the particulars of every single situation before we made a decision/judgement on it then we couldn't even function normally. Again, common sense is innate in some people, and not so much in others.

ps. I know you love banning me shifty, so read what you wrote before 'And as long as you don't break the rules, that's how it works' and follow it...kthxbai

Camzarcar, I know you are trying to make a point, but this isn't a situation like "Should I eat today?" where you would need to know every single variable about what you are eating, the nature of your digestive system at the time you are thinking of eating, or anything like that. You need to eat. This was a response to a message on a forum where one person says "this community is awesome" and then gets crapped on by some of the long standing community members with what amounts to "you are lazy" when the guy might be sitting in a chair at home with a broken leg. The simple fact is that you don't know. That's not me being condescending, that's me pointing out the fact and saying that a side job is, by definition, a job.

You seem to be saying that I ban you for no reason, which is not the case. You get banned for trolling, and as the next instance will be your third (and permanent), it might be prudent to cut out the "follow it....kthxbai" and treat people in a manner that you would like to be treated.

I'm not a fan of warnings, or banning, regardless of what you would believe, but with how forum members are currently interacting with each other with such blatant disrespect, I think it is time to begin enforcing the rules as set by Ubisoft's forum management team. If you don't agree with someone, then tell them, but this whole "you're dumb" and "that's so stupid" stuff has reached the end of the line. If people are old enough to know how to use a computer, then they are old enough to deal with the consequences that they incur from how they act and how they present themselves.

TL: DR - Forum rules are being enforced.

I don't think shifty is being stupid at all..... The amount of negativity on these forums has been very noticeable for quite some time. The "think before you speak/type" comes to mind quite often with some posts. Are some things really worth saying and with some posts, do people think about how people are going to reply to them....? An nonconstructive negative post will most likely get a nonconstructive negative reply....
