its kind of amaing how many ways this game sticks it to you with IAP

Until this point I mainly noticed it with gas and gems needed to bypass upgrade times. Since I was almost exclusively chasing down parts to open up new levels I rarely worried about upgrading bikes unless i absolutely needed to for challenges or to beat ANBA opponents. For that reason I amassed a pretty sizable bank of coins. Once I had everything opened up and started upgrading bikes it quickly went away. Now im finally noticing the $$$ for coins things too. jeez this game doesnt give you a break at all does it. It really blows when you obtain all the high level parts you need for an upgrade only to realize you need 100000 more coins to do anything with them.

I've just hit the point where I need to upgrade the Riptide in order to complete Lumber Yard and the course of my game has taken the same route as yours. What I've noticed is that I need to upgrade the bike in order to complete the level and progress with the story missions but at the same time I have the parts collection mission and if you don't pay attention you can easily use parts that you are trying to stockpile while completing the upgrades.

Despite the frustration that the mechanics bring I can't help but admire the construction of it. They set out to create this style of game and they achieved it in all of its gloriously obstructive majesty.

I haven't spent a penny on the game and will not but I will continue to play it because the gameplay and level design are top notch and the structure of the game has brought about a regimented addiction I've never experienced.
