    Notoriety - Gain vs Loss

I've noticed that when being hacked, the player hacking me can gain 150+ for an escape, and 500-750 for a successful hack. (I've let them get it complete just to test this.) However, when I'm invading and hacking another player, I normally get maybe 15-50 for an escape, and 150-200 for a successful hack. Additionally, when I kill an invader, I get 30-150, however, when I'm killed as an invader, they get 200-400. Is there something I'm missing? I'm finding it difficult to continue progressing in the online rewards when I can lose 200-500 when invading, and only gain 50-150.

That's likely because everyone keeps resetting.

Whenever you turn off Online Invasions, notoriety gets reset to 0.

These people probably just want to invade a lot of people (and not get invaded themselves)

So they invade, succeed, turn off invasions, turn it back on, and then they're back to 0 notoriety,

Since the reward is based on how much notoriety the opposing player has, you're just matching up with people that have almost none.

That's stupid. I wanted to get up into the top 10 on the leader board, but that doesn't seem possible at the rate of 1 multi-player session per 30 mins, and only getting ~50 notoriety.

Considering people have already hacked the game (just look at the leaderboards for Cash Run), I wouldn't be surprised if getting top 10 in Notoriety would be reserved for hackers as well (actual hackers, not Watch dog hacking)

I have also noticed this, I have tried it on all game modes too.

So I win a race, 1st place, I gain (max so far) +71, player in second gains +175, with the 4th and 5 getting similar gains.
    I win a tail, +25 gain. I lose a tail, they get a +250 gain.
I win a hack +150 gain, they win a hack they get a +542 gain.
I win a FFA decryption (same results with a full team game) I gain around 71 notoriety.

The worst couple were on races.

    I came 4th

    Player1 +675
    Player2 +424
    Player3 +148
    Me 0
    Player5 +71
    Player6 +91
    Player7 -254
    Player8 -185

    I mean what?

Another game I came second for +45 whilst the winner and one below me had around +500/600.

I don't understand it, a few times I have lost notoriety for being the top/second placing player of the winning team in decryption.

Whoever designed the notoriety system clearly doesn't have any brain in between their ears.

This notoriety problem isn't even the worst thing in the online game modes. I have been staring at a hacker with a popup saying not the hacker at the last 2% of an invasion and once they win the same guy I was staring at turns out to be the hacker even though it stated he wasn't. Has happened a few times, that and people sitting in unreachable places to win hacks just pisses me off.

Be interesting to see if Ubisoft actually do anything to improve their multiplayer or not. It's really the only area of a lot of their games I would like to see them work on substantially.

    Absolutely.

I'm hitting a damn brick wall every time I get to 2,000.

It pits me against 'runners' who are already 700m away by the time it even loads me in, or puts me less than 50m away and RIGHT in plain sight.

Runners I dont mind, I just run away and take the quick-travel option when it pops up at 1,000m. When it spawns me RIGHT in the middle of a road.. or on the most absofrickinlutely obvious cars.. bright red dodge vipers, the motorcycle, etc... it just SCREAMS obvious. When I tail someone, I look for dusty old vans or economy sedans to make myself NONDESCRIPT, FFS!

So anyway.. every time I reach 2,000 and get the nitrous upgrade... its like I hit a notoriety TAX BRACKET and suddenly I'm only getting 50 or 70 for a win while they get 300-400. I cant even grind my way through it cuz every so damned always some kid will get lucky and ding me back down 300ish and I lose the nitrous.

I hate racing games, and especially the driving physics in THIS game ~ from what I see, the only way to get a ton of notoriety is to do the racing? Why are the notoriety rewards lumped altogether? If I race well, it should give me RACE REWARDS! When I put backdoors onto 10 phones in a row, I should earn HACKING REWARDS!

... is this not some kind of common sense thing? The more you use a skill, the better you get at that particular skill? IMO the game was broken when I wasnt even an HOUR into the single player story and I already had 25 outta 50 skill points unlocked from the multiplayer matches I'd won. *sigh*

Better yet.. instead of automatically assigning rewards, let us GAMBLE with it. I'd like to see a couple of these guys 'Go All In' with notoriety.

P.S. Srsly I cant kill the target but they can kill me? Yeah.. I get it.. no point in hacking the target if they're dead. Gimme -50 notoriety and let me get a few kills, already. Geezus hell..

What pisses me off is that you get 1 hit/insta killed by the hackee if your trying to escape yet if you are in a lose/lose situation as a hacker, ie no escape route and they have wither already profiled you or about to I would like to be able to shoot back and NOT lose 500 notoriety for it. Personally I would like the hacker and the hackee have the same level of health AND once profiled the hacker can shoot his/way out and still gain notoriety, obviously only like 10% of the amount gained from a successful hack or a successful evade.

Just make it so both parties gain notoriety, with the hackee gaining maybe 50% of the gain they would have if they won and the hacker gaining maybe 10-20% of what they would have got if they won. Yes killing the hacker makes the info useless but if YOU die then doesn't that make the whole attempt pointless? I would like the get a sort of "escaped alive" reward if you end up HAVING to kill the person you are hacking that would only come into play if you have been profiled.

If your unsure about a possible hacker, shoot the air with a unsilenced weapon. npc's scramble and have unique animations. AC multiplayer should have taught you similar techniques.
