    Hans Ruedi Giger - Tribute build

    H.R.Giger the creator of aliens died 12. mai 2014.



    I want to make a track in his honor, anyone here want to join in?
    No contest, just let his art inspire and build a track.

    If it's more than me who wants to do this, then we should release on the same date and maby have H.R.G in the begining of the track name.
    Maby the 12'th of July would be a good deadline?
    Edit: 12'th of August might be better as we can take advantage of a possible dlc.

    EDIT2: settling on 12'th of july as the final deadline

    June 2

    started out with total chaos, then elimination...
    almost back to start, but left with a good atmosphere and a few ideas to try out.
    yes.... i think it can be done.


    June 4
    Watching Alien (1979) to night


    June 5
    Alien (1979) yeah its still rocking... so intense.
    Still fiddling with the environment around cp1 as i usually do
    Playing with some giger-eggs




    June 6
    painting myself into a corner.... backtracking, adjusting....
    starting a fresh one simultaneously, still lot of time.


    June 13
    been focusing more on the DL last week, must adjust obstacles, too flat now, more climb,
    deco need to be much more gigersk, lost the plot a little, back on track, happy so far.


    June 30
    my only focus last week was smoothing out the DL and rearange some obstacles.
    going to fiddle with some deco ideas now that i got a week without the kids.


    July 5
    finish working on the driving line, feels pretty good now. Not supersmooth, but better/different than i usualy make.



    August 1
    looking through the new DLC, nothing really usefull there, or at least nothing i feel is a must to make the track better....
    so.. releasing the track without dlc content the 12'th of August "ish"...

    Difficulty level are going to be set as extreme, but its an easy one, no ninja stuff.
    Maby slightly harder than "hard"

    Update log:
    1# 31.5.14
    Allot of ideas are constrained by the items in the editor (as was to be expected), but I am making progress never the less. If I can get my ideas out in the editor this should turn out fairly cool..

    Making good but slow progress.. Possible, its definitely possible.

    DL is starting come together finally. I was focusing too much on the decor at first, that is more or less sorted now.

    For the first time I am feeling like I am actually dealing with a track now rather than, Oh look isn't that pretty. I hope pretty is not the word that springs to peoples mind when first playing.
    I have around 15-20 seconds of track, the DL in that section still needs allot of work. But that is my first area of the track, Still allot of work to do.

    Overall things are going well, I think... Complexity is surprisingly low! For now. The first area is going to be the most heavily decorated. so it is going to shoot up from hear on out. I'm hoping to cram allot into this build, all is resting on that green, orange, red bar.

    I haven't done much more work since the last update. I have taken a few days off from building, Needed a break from the editor after jumping strait into this build after my last. But back to it now. Coming back with more objective eyes and such. Looks like everything is still where i left it.

    About 45% through the track now.. progress is slow but it seems to be coming together now...I hope... Full update on P3

    I'm Getting very close to running out of complexity, so I'm having to scrap allot of ideas.
    Also The build may be finished sooner than I had anticipated now that I am working with the little remaining complexity.. I have 1 & a half areas still to build, hoping the complexity will permit this.. The rest of the track is taking shape nicely now though.. Even though it is responsible for killing my complexity, the egg chamber is looking worth it now... Ill post some pictures soon.

    Damn complexity.! I have had to cut one of the two areas left to build, I was half way through building it but it was going to be too costly so having to rethink that area. Disappointing.. The bar is set firmly in the red now.. Not long before I will be forced to stop work on this build....

    Nearly finished. I have had to cut one of my planned areas from the track due to complexity.. I just have some finishing touches and extra test rides to do now.

    My complexity bar keeps hitting 100% full and I still have some finishing touches to do so I am having to find some things I can delete..But I would say I am about 97 to 98% finished. I need do a load of final runs to catch any bugs or things i missed.... Looking forward to sharing it with everyone, Well it might be no one if TC is still in the state it is now on the deadline...... Hope the rest of your build goes well ROBO

    I have been taking a break from building (Not so much building as fiddling). The joy of working with a full complexity bar drove me away for a few weeks..
    I'm trying to find some things that i can delete that will not be noticed or maybe can do without.
    But all that is left to do now is:
    1. Test & smooth the DL
    2. Fix a trigger, event thing..
    3. Decide if the panda should be playable. Because it can run the track.
    4. Finishing touches, medal times etc..

    My track is or was 99.9% done. Ill get the was. All that is left is some final checks and medal times most if not all other little touches are done.
    Now the was^. After loading up the editor after the recent update my HRG track has had the light altered(fixable). What is troubling is a huge bright almost glowing green streak running across the terrain. I am unsure what to do about this. as it seems unwilling to be masked by things.
    So right now I am just finishing up a side project track then ill get to work on a possible fix. maybe will have to reshape the area.

    Hope your track escaped anything like this ROBO... looking forward to playing your track, its been a long road.

    Thanks for the Images, I found allot of these last night doing some research for my track.. I'm feeling that I'm going to run out of complexity very easily on this one.. I will post some photos of my progress as I go on as you suggested...

    giger is my favorite artist .and i would join no problems . but how on earth are you going to make a decent track with these clinical pieces . good look and i cant wait to see if you prove me wrong xx.. im off now to see if its possible
