what do you use your gems for?
Besides skipping hackers on anba.
in the beginning when i want very good i used them for extra spins on the wheel when i didnt get the part i needed after racing a ghost or character.
then i started using them to increase my tank size.
finally i saved up for rarefied fuel.
now i dont use them for anything.
upgrading a tank is a waste since it has such a minimal effect. rarefied fuel is ok but now that im done all the quests i dont see much reason to use them unless i want to chase a bunch of upgrade parts.
what are you using them for?

If I have a surplus of gems, I might consider buying a level4-5 component to help speed up an upgrade (30/110 gems, I think). ("speed up" is probably not the right way to say it though, since all you are doing is meeting the upgrade qualifications so that you can wait many, many days more to see the final results....)
I am in the same boat; all I can do now is improve my WR ranking, and upgrade bikes that I think would help me improve my WR ranking... once I hit approx WR 10/12 I feel I am done, IMO.
Other than that, maybe simply holding on to them for possibly the next set of tracks/feature they release (doing that worked well for me last time).

I used to spend gems for the wheel to manage this ****ing collecting missions.
Also I bought the tankrefresh+1space thing for about 20 gems.
Now I finished the missions and I dont need the gems anymore actually. Suddenly the coins are more important because I need them to upgrade my bikes. Gems are becoming useless (And I dont want to use 10gems to skip anba)

im getting closer to using gems for those same t4-5 parts because yeah why waste a bunch of time grinding tracks for a part when you are going to have to wait 5+ days for the upgrade to complete.
im scared to spend them because im sure the next major update will include more t5 part grinds which the rarefied fuels come in handy.

I've only ever used them for +5 tank increases. My gas tank is at 129 units
