I had no idea, I though he killed every criminal he could find one his son(that is afraid of Bats) got killed by a criminal. Not to mention the casino or what ever his hideout is.

Stop being so pedantic. That was an alternate universe Batman that wasn't even Bruce Wayne. There's also versions of Batman and Superman where they're members of the Nazi party.

Batman don't steal, it's a crime. He would have to beat himself up he he ever do a crime and that will take a lot of time.



Yet he let someone like the Joker live "because ending his life would be an easy......" Don't remember that he said but with his real "super power" he should know that killing him would save more lives. For the argument that it would make him no better than any other criminal is kinda broken to begin with. By letting someone like the Joker live he will only cause more harm since he could have taken care(as in kill) of him...since their endless fight started, not to mention that the Joker is always going to enjoy all of it. He is [IMO] the most idiotic and smartest(second to Lex) person in the on earth.

The Batman joker relationship is considerably more complicated than that.
The Joker also often refuses to kill batman though it would make his life easier.

There's much more to comics than superheroes. And even still its not hard to follow. There's one "main" continuity where nearly all the books are set and then there's some alternate universes with re-imagining of the characters.

Like people say batman never kills.

then it turns out in plenty comics he does, and some he doesn't.

Or that these two characters are a couple, but flash reset time so they're not anymore

too much stuff to keep track of, and too many retcons.

At least for the superhero genre.

I only really started reading comic books this year with the New 52 series from DC, which started in 2011, which is the i think the thing you mentioned with flash resetting everything.
I only really read the New 52 stuff though because it's still fairly easy to keep track of, i don't much bother trying to get into the stuff before it apart from the particularly interesting side and alternate story lines like Flashpoint, Red son and Blackest night.

Most of that stuff you mentioned doesn't need to be worried about so long as you know which series it's part of, like now it's new 52, so all books with the New 52 title follow the same continuity.

And just to say again, Batman: Court of Owls is really really good in my opinion, not just from a comic standpoint but just in general.

You know Batman is insane right? Like, that's one of the biggest themes with his story, that why most of his villains are basically manifestations of various mental health issues.
