    Patch Notes (Updated 8/21/14)

    Hello all,

    Good news! We now have more information on the patches that will be deployed on WD. We apologize if you were affected by any of these issues, but we greatly appreciated your patience while we got this sorted.

    A new patch for the game is coming on all platforms. The patch will be available for download on the PlayStation 4 in the next few hours. PlayStation 3 will be available shortly. For PC, the patch will be available in the coming days. For Xbox One and Xbox 360, the patch will be released within the next week. We’ll keep you updated on all progress.

    You’ll find the details below. If you have questions, please ask them in this thread and we’ll try to be a specific as possible with our answers.

    MAJOR GAME FIXES
    • Automatically reconstructed corrupted save files which prevented loading to go further than 90%. Some collectibles may remain unrecoverable.
    • Fixed the issue preventing players from using hacks in game.

    GAMEPLAY FIXES
    • Fixed several mission-breaking bugs.
    • Fixed minor mission and item-related issues.
    • Fixed the issue that caused the empty weapon-wheel.

    MULTIPLAYER FIXES
    • Fixed several minor respawn issues.
    • Fixed some connection and session joining issues.

    PC SPECIFIC FIXES
    • Fixed graphical glitches on Low & Medium settings.
    • Fixed some crashes on SLI configurations.
    • Implemented several performance improvements.
    • Implemented a few control improvements.
    • Fixed issues causing infinite messaging and timing-out when trying to access the Online Shop from the Extras Menu while Uplay is set to Offline mode.
    • Fixed issues connecting to a Multiplayer game.
    • Implemented several mouse modifications.
    • Fixed “Drinking Game” control issue where wrong information was displayed when played with a gamepad.
    • Fixed “Chess Game” control issue.
    • Fixed bug where the invasion setting was never saved.
    • Fixed graphical issues during cut scenes and cinematics.
    • Fixed several graphical and texture bugs.
    • Removed Vista OS check to prevent false positives.
    • Added game version in main menu.

    Hello all,

    Great news! A new patch will be released in the next days for Watch_Dogs. The main purpose of this patch is to respond to community feedback by changing or improving certain features, as well as fixing some minor bugs. It was ultimately designed to optimize your player experience and add some replay options to the game. The patch will be available for all systems on August 21st in the Americas, Europe and on August 26th in Asia.

    We know it has been a bit since the last patch and this is the reason why. We’ve been hard at work making these changes.

    See below the list of changes that will be in the patch.

    Single Player Added Features

    - REPLAY OPTIONS – After having completed the main story line, players will now have the option to reset previously played Gang Hideouts and Convoy Missions. – (ALL PLATFORMS)

    - DRINKING GAMES – The Drinking Games were re-tuned based on community feedback. – (ALL PLATFORMS)

    - Increase round fail time by 20%. More time for player to finish.
    - Increase button cycling time by 50%. More time between button switch.
    - Increase player reticle radius by 25% in collect button mode. Allow easier button press succeeded on bad latency tv.
    - Increase player reticle last frame velocity impact on this frame position (inertia friction) by 70%. The player reticle slow down faster when no input from player -> easier to stay on the spot targeted & More precise player control.
    - Increase player input factor by 50%. More precise and more reactive player control.
    - Reduce max force applied randomly to player reticle from 0.35 to 0.29. Less strong random impulse for drunk effect.
    - Reduce moving target speed by 15%. Easier for player to time his button press on a target.

    Multiplayer Added Features

    - HACK YOUR FRIENDS – You can now select available friends via the grid and hack or tail them without their knowledge. This can be disabled under online options. – (ALL PLATFORMS)

    - CTOS MOBILE – Mobile players disconnecting will no longer result in the gameplay ending for the console/PC player. Console and PC players will play their match to the end and receive some Notoriety points for doing so. – (ALL PLATFORMS)

    - MULTIPLAYER BAD BEHAVIOR – Players who are frequently disconnecting from multiplayer matches will be pooled together and paired only against players with similar online behaviors. – (ALL PLATFORMS)

    If you’re playing against someone else who disconnects unfairly, you will get the same amount of Notoriety as if you had won at that moment.

    The disconnector will not receive any Notoriety.


    Single Player Fixes

    - POKER – Fixed a bug in which players were getting stuck playing poker if they used the camera against the last opponent in a low stakes game. – (ALL PLATFORMS)

    - MISSING PERSONS INVESTIGATIONS – Fixed instances in which the wrong text was appearing in Portuguese language. – (ALL PLATFORMS)


    AMD UPDATE

    For optimal performance on AMD graphic cards, a new beta driver (14.7) is available from AMD at http://support.amd.com/en-us/download with the following changes:

    - Assassin's Creed IV - improved CrossFire scaling (3840x2160 High Settings) up to 93%
    - Watch Dogs: Smoother gameplay on single GPU and Multi-GPU configurations

    Watch_Dogs PC Patch (2014-07-29)

    Hi all,

    Recently, we optimized some of the performance issues that were causing some users to experience high amounts of stuttering while playing Watch_Dogs. Instances of stuttering during gameplay should now be reduced, especially when using “High Textures”; however, some players might still experience some stuttering while playing with “Ultra Textures” settings on.

    We’ll keep updating you as more fixes for stuttering are currently being worked on.

    If you still experience stuttering after the optimization, please let us know in this thread.

    Here is a list of other fixes:
    • Several fixes to improve NAT type error messages.
    • Fix for PCs with multiple network interfaces.
    • Fixed an issue at the Poker Table in which the button appeared corrupted after being pulled from the surveillance camera when Aiden is dealing the cards.
    • Fixed weapon wheel issue that prevent shotgun selection with mouse.
    • Fixed title crashes on loading screen, while Aiden selects to restart last autosave, after previously interacting with the slot machine from Mad Mile.
