You should, and are able to engage in positive chat with people. You'll just have to understand that you'll have to be a little more crafty to find it with a game that has let down its hardcore fan base.Originally Posted by RetroManHD Go to original post
We have a whole bunch of threads dedicated to all manor of complaints. The forum needs a thread SPECIFICLY about positivity. Since im probably the most ironic person to make one...I'll do it.
Remember to save very often, and I mean VERY often! The editor for the 360 is extremely buggy - your 360 will freeze a LOT! Literally every single time I try and change the roof of a seed building my 360 crashes. For others it's when they try to change the wall. Good luck!Originally Posted by st3vouk Go to original post
This post is my own opinion on what's going on at the moment, I don't expect anyone to agree/disagree with me and don't want to start a discussion. I post this because I love trials, I hope everyone is mature enough to respect each other and not use info from my post to start useless discussions or point fingers to anyone.

Most people just want some info so we know what to expect. I don't know if it's because of Ubi, but it's horrible we don't get any updates about this and they are keeping everything a secret. I get why they did this before release, but now we bought the game, I think this makes us entitled to have some updates at least on the progress. I don't get the point of leaving us waiting for some information, telling people 'information soon' since like 2 weeks ago didn't help either.
I'm looking at the forum almost every day hoping to see a post with some information but every day I get dissapointed. If I didn't love the editor this much, there would be already nothing to do in the game for me with only having SP tracks and maybe I would have moved on too. This is really hurting the communty and I hope we get some info soon...
Only usefull info so far about the patch is from En0 wich looks like the only dev that's really active on the forums. So first off, thanks En0 for communicating with us this much, we all appreciate it.
Since this got posted on the 7th it's almost 2 weeks ago these things seem to have been fixed but we are still waiting for the patch? These are important fixes for gamebreaking bugs for most people, so I don't get why this patch hasn't been released yet. I can't believe there is something more important to add and wait to release these fixes. I know RL wants to release patches simultaniously with consoles, but these fixes look alot PC specific, is it really worth waiting if these problems impact the majority of people? I can't see why we should have to wait for these fixes.Originally Posted by En0- Go to original post
I am used to game editers from my Pc gaming days and no how it feels to lose hours/weeks of work, cheers for the heads up though. Can't wait to get started [:Originally Posted by S-Wallis Go to original post
Same here, I dont have particularly strong feelings against Fusion I just don't find myself wanting to play it for whatever reason - and if I had to give a main reason for it I would probably plump for the underwhelming handling and appearance of the Viper.Originally Posted by ben1bob Go to original post
I know and agree with what Sebbbi said about getting used to new bikes etc... but I loved both Phoenix's from day 1 and hated the Banshee from day 1, and the Viper is basically a new Banshee. It's not right and it doesnt feel "trialsy" whatever that means.
Next game needs to get back to basics imo - screw all this flashy future crap.
Give us some good old fashioned ghetto trials, raw and dirty. With bikes that look and sound like bikes, a small-framed agile little Phoenix ready to tear shiz up - Trials doesnt need new features or a facelift, it needs the current features done properly.
I actually enjoy the game quite alot, The major, major, major, major issue for me is Track Central. It is very poorly set up compared to the previous game Trials Evolution. But besides that, the editor is much better, there is more bikes to diverse gameplay, more things to do in singleplayer, and a relatively good amount of positives for the game. It is not perfect, and not exactly what I wanted, but Trials Fusion is still much better than many of the games that flood the marketplace...and it is only 20 bucks for the base game.

No problem for the communication. Also thanks to the OP for the positive initiative. Also, I am not the only active dev, Sebastian is here regularly and Mutetus is really active in the level editor section of the forum. And of course, we have all the community management team that sends us summary of the community activity to help us to follow what the community is saying without us needing to spend hours on the forum to read everything (because the time we spend on the forum, we don't spend it fixing the bugs and adding features).
I am mainly responsible for the PC dev, that's why my post seems to be PC oriented but the biggest part of the team is cross platform. We take extra time to test the patch, remove what is not up-to-quality, ensure the new features are working correctly, etc... Inside the patch, there are PC specific things but also all the cross platforms things and we can't release first on PC and then on consoles (it wouldn't be fair), that's why we have to wait. I also play on PC and I'd like to have this patch, so it bothers me to have to wait as well but that's the right thing to do. We're doing extra testing and for example, we found out the fix we did for the slow motion issue on PC is causing problems on some configurations, so we can't release that and we removed it from the next patch the time we need to fix it properly. What will happen is we'll probably do a PC specific patch that contains only the slow motion fix a few days/weeks after the next patch to not wait for too long.
There are a lot of changes in the next patch but before communicating it, we're verifying them and try to not miss anything. One reason we have been quite silent is that each time we communicate what we are doing but for some reasons related to gamedev, we have to change things, community gets really angrySo instead of saying "we're looking at that/we're thinking that/we're considering that/we're working on that", we hold off the communication until we are 200% sure, and then we say "it will be like that". It's personally not my favorite way of doing it, i'd prefer us to be able to bring more transparency to our communication but on one hand gamedev is not a world where things happen as planned/designed, it's really organic and requires a lot of adaptation, on the other hand the community can be quite severe when things change because that forces players to change their expectations, and then the mood can be quite negative on the forum and it damages the experience for everyone (devs and players). So, the reflex is to not take any risk and to not communicate what we are not 200% sure.
Cheers,
Fusion is not a bad game by any stretch of the imagination. Hardcore fans were expecting a product better than Evo in most regards out of the gate - that didn't happen and hence the disappointment. Though I've done my own fair share of crying I do agree with the people who say the negativity has gone overboard.
In my opinion the game was released too early and developed in too short a time frame for all the ambition. That being said if I had a dollar for every time marketing expected me to deliver unrealistic feature sets in a product within an unrealistic time frame I could have retired by now...that's life
Something I hope we all can remember is that when people say bad things about RedLynx et al you're saying something bad about real people not some lifeless entity so maybe we can be a bit more constructive and thoughtful when posting in future.
Edit: @en0 looks like I posted at the same time as you. Hope my useless post doesn't detract from yours. Must say the PC team have done a great job so far![]()
