    [PC] Maximum Threat [Beta]

    (Not sure if I should post this here, or in the video section, since it's about the track, but it has a video, also I noticed the description says this thread is for everything but PC tracks so that confuses me a bit)

    Hey. I decided to make a track where you drive an Armoured Personnel Carrier/IFV. The vehicle moves free of the driving line, and it has a positionable Mobile Gun System on top. Currently I haven't released the map, because I'm still working on making the steering not rage inducing. Once the steering is fixed, I plan to make a series of targets the player has to shoot using the MGS on top of the APC/IFV.

    If you would like me to release the beta feel free to say so.
    I thought I would post this to let you know I'm making the track.

    As you can see the primary front wheels are a bit temperamental, but I will work on getting it as good as possible before working on and releasing the full track, also please note that the APC actually travels twice the speed that it does in the video ( Screen recorder= frame drops)

    Aside from the wheels, your creation seems to control fairly well and looks a lot better than some of the race car simulators that blew up on Trials Evo. Have you considered having to navigate a minefield in addition to dealing with targets?

    From what I can see (hard to tell tough) is that it might be a bit too heavy, hence why the wheels seem to glitch. Maybe you should try lowering the weight in the properties. Just a tought tough, don't know if that will actually work.

    Will do! and thanks for the tip. =)

    UPDATE: That seems to have done the trick. Wheel glitches are rare now, and the vehicle is much more capable of climbing up steep surfaces. Cheers. =)

    Update

    Here is a video showing my progress on the APC and the map. Unfortunately the frame rate causes the audio to desynchronise with the image, and there is a massive black border.

    I asked shady if this double post would be acceptable, and he says it's okay. So I hope nobody minds.

    I haven't posted any evidence of my progress on Maximum Threat for a while now; infact how long has it been since I started? 6 months? You can thank Sixth Form, and Trials Fusion's physics engine for that (trying to get the APC to behave itself was a balancing game).

    Description:
    This is probably the longest I've ever worked on a personal project, but it's still not finished yet. I have to program the enemy 'A.I' before it can be released. Then I can start work on the next mission.

    Maximum Threat is going to be a series of missions where the player takes command of a fictional APC the "M17 BearCat 2" and has to complete a series of objectives per mission.

    The player fights for the antagonist "Samsara Worldwide;" a global conglomerate that holds control over a region that the UN wants to provide a proper government for. The player has to fight against the UN under command of a brainwashed platoon commander who thinks the world of Samsara; who in reality just care about profit.

    Video probably slips out of sync at some point because Fraps...

    Release date should be sometime in January.
