Child of Light - Only two resolution available and no refresh rate options!

    Hello,

On this page: https://support.ubi.com/pl-PL/FAQ.as...0000000eeOLCAY we can read:

"For the best experience please run game in one of those resolution:
    1280 x 720, 1280 x 800, 1360 x 768, 1366 x 768, 1440 x 900, 1600 x 900, 1680 x 1050,1920 x 1080.

But I have only two resolution available in Game Options Menu and no refresh rate options! Do you expect that I will play it at 1024x768@60Hz and have my eyes burn?

How to force this game to run at CRT 1280x960@120Hz at Windows 8.1 x64?

Does so called "PC Devs" will finally learn to always implement some basic stuff/options that are common since 1990?!?

Or all PC gamers are doomed and will have to play dumbed-down console ports to the end of the world?

I have in fact 15 screen resolutions available in game options, they range from 800x600 to 1680x1050 (max capability of my monitor), and among them there's even 1280x960. Maybe it's a problem related to refresh rate, i use 60Hz so i don't have problems

I have a plenty of different resolutions available too. But your resolution is a little bit special. Try to modify your config file located here:

    ...\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\My Games\Child of Light\YOURACCOUTNNAME\settings.xml

Change the value to your desired resolution -> Screen Width="1280" Height="960"

    Of course, without any guarantee

Thank you for you reply - always nice to see a help from the community. You solution only works partially:

I can set Width="1280" Height="960" but only for Window/Borderless Window. If I try to set DisplayMode="2", the game starts in some stupid "native" resolution for my CRT monitor (956x529) even if i set "settings.xml" as Read-Only. Better have this than nothing.

I wonder if there was any quality testing and does they start the game even once at the PC that is outside of their office :ASD

Plenty of testing goes into the development of games. Have you reported this issue to our Ubisoft Customer Support? If you have not, I would suggest you contact them as they might have more information on the issue you are experiencing. The contact links are in my signature.

I'm guessing ubisoft forgot there are people that use other than 60hz monitors.

I'm running 1920x1080 144hz monitor and only available resolution for me is 1024x576, which is basically unplayable cause all the texts are so blurry they're unreadable.

I've been dodging ubisoft games cause of all the horrorstories i've kept hearing, and finally when i give a chance this happens... GLHF
