The missing link
Ive been playing Fusion all weekend and am enjoying it for the most part. Tracks are good, if a little samey, and some of the harder / extreme ones are very fun. The main issue I have (other than the digging in tyre and the cheesy music and the glitched leaderboards and the lack of customisation and the FMX) is that it seems to not really tie into the previous trials games.
Evo brought the gritty, grimy feel of HD to the outside and yes the game looked a lot different but it had the same feel. Fusion to me seems cartooney. The graphics are very nice, game runs smooth for me but everything looks shiny. Trials was dirty noisey bikes climbing through junk.
Do you think that Fusion marks a step away from the original idea of trials, to perhaps start a new visual style? I know its the future, do they not have junk in the future?
I'm not trying to say I dont like the game, Its trials and its terrific value. Ive already played about 8hrs. Just wish it had tied into evo and HD a bit more.
