At the minute, current gen games just look better, but don't really offer anything new, so people think there's not much point buying a current gen console just for better graphics. Someone needs to be brave and develop a game just for current gen that offers something new, something more than just better graphics. Then more people would buy current gen consoles, then more developers would stop developing games for last gen and current gen.Originally Posted by aLeXeLa Go to original post
I really hope that the next trials game doesn't support XB360! I mean come on, the theme tune says welcome to the future! Hardly correct!
I can only play it on 360 so in terms of that for me it is the 'best' but I know it really isn't.
I've read a lot of comments here saying that the 360 version is actually the worst version.
It makes perfect sense that the game is better on next-gen consoles.
It does seem to freeze my console quite often too.
We had a few good years on 360 but it's obvious that we're now the runt of the litter.
The problem for me is that nothing about the new systems appeal to me, and Trials alone (as it is presently) is not worth the upgrade. We still have good competition and excellent builders. Once this has gone I may (reluctantly) have to make the step up.
We are fixing the stability issues in patches (next patch already has some fixes). Lag/tear on Xbox 360 is minimal and only affects a few official levels. I haven't seen lighting issues in official levels (except for the Observatory start where there's too many lights). If you find lighting issues or lag/tear issues in the official levels, please report them, so we can investigate.Originally Posted by morrillo Go to original post
Community created custom tracks of course lag/tear more easily on Xbox 360, because the hardware is less powerful and not all track creators test their tracks properly to ensure that no lag/tear is present when they publish the track. On next gen consoles you can of course push a lot more stuff before the performance of the console runs out (and the game starts to lag/tear). That's of course a given, since the next gen consoles are roughly 10x more powerful.
It crashes my 360 everyday I play itOriginally Posted by Claudia Go to original post
I didn't mean for you to defend the 360 version Seb, you guys did an amazing job getting it so close to the nextgen version. I was just pointing out that it really isn't better than nextgen in any department other than LB competition - is anybody really surprised that a console nearly 10 years old is lagging behind new consoles?! This thread is rather pointless...Originally Posted by sebastianaalton Go to original post
