on ps4
So I laid down a driveline and nothing more, and the game is giving me screen tearing and it's dropping frames. Are you kidding me? Since there's only grass and mountains/steep hills in my field of view, there's not a lot going on. I used the the area clear tool tool wipe out the grass in the area, and low and behold, it fixed it. Base world grass causes issues, without even building anything. But there's another problem. The area clear tool didn't hide ALL the grass, only about 2/3 of it, give or take depending on the spot.
IF I WANT TO CLEAR SOMETHING, WHY CAN'T I CLEAR ALL OF IT?
On a similar note, another huge reason I can't use this map is because area clear tools can't hide roadways and things like that. Sure, I can hide all these buildings and structures, but the roads will remain, basically dictating what I'm supposed to do with the land. I might as well leave the stuff there. Unfortunately, those are the only places with flat terrain.
This game pretty much requires you to be a creative professional to make anything creative. Evo was so much more accessible for those who wanted to build from scratch. I *usually* felt like I could make something look how I wanted it, without the lay of the land causing too much trouble. But in fusion, I can't help but throw my hands in the air and give up. Theres so much junk per built, dictating the way the terrain lays.
I can't build what I want, just what the game land allows.
to hide the roadways and other things, goto the enviroment tab and select terrain modification, that should allow you to hide the roads
or build in the desert, no roads..
or build in the "arctic" no roads there either,
PRO TIP: Put your start and finish lines down, then go high in the sky and build there. no base world objects in view then
Terrain mods are very hard to make nice. High in the sky is fine for certain things, but not if I want to use natural terrain.Originally Posted by GAS_PR1CES Go to original post
i usually would always build in the sky, but if youre going for natural terrain look why not build up in the sky but just you the natural terrain pieces to get the look you want? Fusion definitely has more big like rock and cliff and even glacier pieces that might help you get that au natural look?
sorry if it doesnt help!
I had same problem on 360 - big hillside with tonnes of grass - caused massive slow down right from start which sucked cos it was the perfect backdrop for what I had in mind, didn't even bother trying to get rid of it just found a different area. Kinda expected it on 360 as it can't seriously keep up with next gen platforms.
