I'm considering making minor changes based on feedback, such as lowering the volume on the movement sfx. It does indeed have some flaws, after all the only form of testing I initially got was watching my gf play and failing miserably, but I refuse to scale the game to an inexperienced first person player's level. Back in the day it was conform or give up. Genuine flaws however need fixing, though I only have like three in mind. More feedback would be nice but most skill game players just want their bailout games I suppose. Damn modern industry lowered the kid's expectations.
Oh, sorry, didn't answer this. Physics bubble was the maximum If I remember correctly, and yeah physics based detection. Fusion can handle physics calculations better than evo (though not a significant improvement), or at least this is what I observed, could easily be mistaken. Some moving enemies were no contact response often with multiple area trigger following them for detection though because physics + OPE doesn't work together too well. Physics joints + collisions do not work too well either. Every AI type and weapon type has different methods to get them to work, takes much experimentation. Not really the engine for this type of game but I think the end result is great considering this and the fact I don't have access to the source, a team, various tools that RL use, and actual platesters + QA . It would be interesting to make an actual series of levels and therefore a full game, entirely doable, but not really suitable conditions for it plus would take ~2 years on my own, which is standard professional dev time.Originally Posted by pneumaticbog484 Go to original post
Sigh. If someone records a video of this game and send it to me via email or a file sharing service I will gift them an item of their choosing, under £10.
My conditions:
Full playthrough, any difficulty level.
All weapons used.
Kick attack used to kill at least two enemies.
At least four secret areas found (four of twelve or so).
No commentary.
Acceptable gameplay (i.e you don't mess around spinning in circles and teabagging stuff, plus you have to be good enough to beat the game).
Acceptable video/recording quality.
SFX set to 40%, music to 100%, master audio levels reasonably high.
