Sounds like your firewall/some other program is blocking it. Try a clean boot to see what program affects it. I had the same problem on Gold when Uplay updated.

This is a know issue (thread already exists). It's fixed in the forthcoming patch. Workaround: move your Windows documents folder from network drive to local drive.
