Personally, if I had known what I do now, I would not have invested so much in the Armadillo...it's a small thing, but it illustrates my question....
Most of us beta-testers don't have the Maruader....don't have tier 3 tracks/bikes.....many of us didn't get ANBA. So....
Any advice on how to proceed once we do? Which bikes from Maruader on are useful to you? Which suck? What quests lines to focus on early? What the sweet spot in upgrades on them; how far should you take each bike initially? In general, how does the difficulty ramp up in tier3 tracks? Any new twists added in track layout?
Thanks in advance....
i dont have a lot of advice as i havent went very deep in tier 3 yet but the beserker appears to be the best bike just like the other agile ones. Be prepared to have a really tough time or not be able to pass some tracks at all with a non upgraded bike. So far quagmire and lumberyard have posed me real problems getting past certain obstacles with under equipped bikes which really blows when you have to quit a track for 10 gas with nothing to show for it.
I have barely used the marauder. I only use it when it comes up in the slot machine.
Tier 3 made me want to smash my phone.Originally Posted by xitooner Go to original post
You will think Tier 2 are all piece of cake when you start to play Tier 3.
I just got my first Platinum on T3 map - Trojan. (IDK its real original name)
I literally spent over an hour just playing this map.

The game isnt for the casual player, clearly (not saying you are casual). Whether its from the F2P model, loss of interest, or the ramp in difficulty, people get weeded out fairly quick.Originally Posted by tommy963123 Go to original post
From the leaderboards I can see:
1 million+ started trials.
610K made it to Tier2
31600 beat Spinners Alley (end of tier2)
9700 started Tier3
The hardest early tracks (Hilltop Ghetto, Buzzsaw Paradise, Balance Avenue) have only been completed by 100-700 people.
The addition of Android will probably double that, or more, but still... big drop-off.
Curious; how many people are on the LB for the latter Tier3 tracks?

pendulum which is a tier 3 slot machine track has only 87
I don't have as many Tier 3 tracks unlocked as others. I got some. The ones I look at, the top 100 times tend to favor the Berserker over the Riptide. But I will say they both tend to be fully upgrades. I believe both are good in their own ways, especially once you have them upgraded.
I think you see the Riptide in the leaderboards because you unlock the Riptide first. So you can keep investing in it. I am personally putting my money in the Berserker. I love the bunny hop on it. Very good lean. Seems like it will be super fast once fully upgraded.
I just got Platinum on Refinery with Berserker. My Berserker is only upgraded to level 3 across the board. My time was 80th, people just above me have FULLY upgraded Riptides.
yeah its mostly riptides because i think a lot of people dont finish anba enough to get the beserker.
i need to clarify something about the marauder. it is garbage and is only good for getting you to spend gems to skip slot machine challenges. i keep getting these ridiculous flip and medal requirements where i cant even complete the amount of flips let alone do it fast enough to pass the challenge. maybe if you upgrade it its better but ive never seen in on the leaderboard.
in my opinion, the berserker is much better than the riptide. unfortunately i spent way to much on upgrading the riptide till i got the berserker. with this bike, you're able to win the final race vs. butch with only two upgrades in every category. so i think it's better to wait playing tier3 until you got the last berserker-pieces.
the tracks in tier3 get more tricky, it's a bit more like the original trial games, where it really comes down to little nuances to get over obstacles. nevertheless, it's still a racing game, not a skill game.
yeah the 3rd tier of track is definitely harder than the tier 2 ones. quagmire has a borderline ninja obstacle at least the way i have to do it with my current bike levels.
Thanks everyone; getting some good ideas of what I should be doing (eventually)Also, thanks for the tier3 leaderboard counts, sriskus.
Lets hope they do seriously drop the bike upgrade times. . .so far I have been trying to play by RL's rules (want to beat them on their terms without paying any money) but if I see multi-day upgrade times I am going to be sorely tempted to mess with time....
