How can I;
1. start a track with no music?
2. change the song to another at a specific point?
3. mute a song immediately?
I know how. You'll just have to put the music tracks to the looping sounds like in Evolution, and put also the option back to disable the annoying editor music separately from other music.
Hi! Apologies that it took this long to reply to the thread. Summer vacations, urgent stuff with new DLC and all that. Now to answer your questions:Originally Posted by Megamanne Go to original post
1. This would definitely be a nice to have feature, but we shall see whether it can be implemented or not.
2. This would be very hard to do with the current music playback system, so I doubt this will be implemented.
3. We don't have instant muting for normal songs, but you could use dynamic music instead to end a song rather quickly with value 1 (and restart it later with any value less than 1 if you want to).
Unfortunately we cannot put the songs into looping sound source category with the current playback system, because it would cause other issues.
The option to mute the editor music separately would be nice, I'll look into that.
Standby for some new dynamic music transition instructions tomorrow when Riders of the Rustlands launches! Personally I think the new songs are the best so far![]()
I've updated the OP with new instructions for the Riders of the Rustlands songs. The music tracks in this DLC are a lot longer compared to the ones in the main game and there are more loops to choose from! I've also included the option to use either a short or a special long transition in two of them.
When triggered, long transitions play until the end and then jump to either the next looping song part, or if you've triggered another value before the transition has finished playing, it jumps to that. Long transitions can only be interrupted fast with values 0 and 1.
Happy music making!

I've just started playing with the dynamic music after all this time and awesome work. Im going to have some fun integrating a few tracks and playing with the mood.
A thought also popped into my noggin about those questions asked :-
1. start a track with no music?
2. change the song to another at a specific point?
3. mute a song immediately?
1, can be made simple by adding a silent dynamic track
2, if you could somehow add to the dynamic loop data a 1.1 that is silent and very short, it could also be used to switch to the next track, as i've just found out when you end the song with a 1 it doesn't start the next!
or instead of 1.1 make anything over 1 switch to whatever track is in the play list selection using the 10ths as the selector, ie:
0 restarts the current track
and >0<=1 defines the loop as it is now
1.1 is the 1st track in the play list
1.2 2nd play list track
...
1.9 9th, although a 9 tracks would be in most cases far too many
and 3. if you have a silent track then no need for a mute option, as long as the silenced track is inserted in the play list somewhere and 2 is implemented.
let me know what you think![]()
0.0 - Start
0.1 - Loop 1
0.2 - Loop 2
0.3 - Loop 3
0.4 - Loop 4
0.5 - Loop 5
0.6 - Loop 6
0.7 - Loop 7
0.8 - Loop 8
0.9 - Loop 9
1.0 - End
lets say 1.1 would start song #2, 1.2 song #3 etc. it would not be possible to define different loops in song #2, #3 etc. and it would be too complicated to use btw.
how about a slider in the dynamic music tool that defines the songs you selected in the playlist? similar to the variation event, the slider would change if you add / remove songs in the playlist. like that you would have the option to change loops and songs separatly. also a preview for the loops in the dynamic music event would be nice, like we have in the sound source. imo that makes much more sense and would be easier to use.
