"The existence of these tracks is not what makes people mad, I'm sure, it's the baffling popularity of them and how they rule TC skill game category despite having little substance OR style".
^They don't deserve the popularity, this is barely even subjective. What message does this send to other builders, or the industry? Hey developers, make bailout games in 10 mins, rinse and repeat, this rather large demographic will play them over and over. Easy money.
People just have low standards, or the majority of Trials' fanbase are children.
These games keep real dedication and hard work from having time in the feeds, especially when spammed.
It's not their existence as a design concept, it's their undeserved popularity. But that is games churned out by the industry in a nutshell these days, with a few exceptions.
Additionally, they haven't even evolved despite having a decent amount of time to do so. Still the same old low quality bailout games and impossible stairs etc from Evo.
At least Red Lynx added wings, and then a grappling hook.
What if RL never attempted to improve Trials? It was still just a flash game? We wouldn't even be here, or I wouldn't.
Oh, also these tracks don't just stagnate the skill game feeds, but Trials too.
It's up to you m8, I'm just nagging you. Surprise us, make something innovative (very hard to do these days), or just make something new to Trials. There was many high quality skill games of various types in Evo, but somehow impossible stairs etc persisted. There was always some games that weren't quite good enough, perhaps mine even because of the occasional frame rate drop, but it was the effort that counts. I still made it to the number 1 spot on Highest rated this week three or four times thoughAh Evo TC, how great that was eh?
Hmm lets think: Super Bailout: You start, bailout, grappling hook for some distance whilst avoiding killer squirrels, and then you land in an futuristic air/spacecraft, which you then fly to the moon, avoiding/shooting space debris along the way. Upon reaching the moon you...surprise us. I'm not too good with innovation, better at refining and expanding upon the small details, or melding elements from different game types into one style of play (not like the example above, that was more a series of mini-games).
That's alright, 7,000 other people are... My next track will have a lot of detail added to it...Originally Posted by xitooner Go to original post

You know what really awesome skill games are?
You NEED to check these out from the past (Trials Evolution) what REAL skill games are, which took hundreds of hours for them to finish:

You have to know the logic: Many downloads does not mean it's good. Like other people think, COD is a very popular so it must be good, right? And by the way, COD is played a lot by 12 y/o kids. For the maturity, it's nothing spectacular, just the same old shazz, just like the non-stopping bailout tracks played by kids thinking this is cool, but it does not take more to increase the bailout power and put a hole at the other side which triggers the finish.
The world is really sad, some very terrible things gets to popular and appraised, for instance, music videos.
