    Are you referring to Fusion? I too have found that the skill level of Fusion is just a little bit harder than Evo. I got all the plats in Evo and I am really struggling to zero-fault the Extremes of Fusion. In some way I am content .. because running through the rest of the game in 2 hours, getting gold on almost every first run wasn't that challenging.

    I was having a lot of trouble with one of the obstacles in Rock of Ages. The 40 degree angled concrete block (think the 4th one). After many many hours of Trials I finally noticed when I lean back prematurely and hold it while accelerating during the landing it will have more traction and stability. I never needed this in Evo but I sure saw AJ do it with much amazement. This new skill has got me looking again at a lot of jumps and obstacles and I am happy to still be able to improve.

    One of the things I like to do is analyze. Why, how, etc .. then repeat. A keen insight and some repetition is all you need to improve.

    Unfortunately no, not just Fusion, all the games lol. Prime example, Inferno 2 on HD. Must have ran it 100's, if not 1000's of times. 0 faulted it once, could never do it again therefore probably a mix of luck/skill rather than pure skill. The truth is out there i could 0 maybe one in 3 runs, Way of the ninja never got less than 10 faults. I accept now, my muscle memory is too narrow minded

    I have over 70 days played on Evo, not much less on HD and close to 3 days on Fusion already...I'm a slightly above average player and I'll never be competing with the top guys. I've spoke to folks about this ever since HD and do believe that practice will only get you so far.

    I don't think anyone is trying to take anything away from the top riders. We all know that you, along with everyone else have put in the hours to become great. We aren't trying to deny that at all. And I don't think people are trying to make excuses for themselves either. I mean no one continues to play Trials unless they are trying to improve upon their current times, right? But our improvements can certainly feel like they've hit a wall at a certain point where we are improving at such a slow rate it seems like it's almost nothing. This is the point where a lot of people are at, and unfortunately that may be it for them. There may not be another breakthrough moment. They just have to very slowly improve or just stop playing if they don't find it enjoyable anymore.

    I also think that nearly any game can be used as a good example of people's natural ability vs. their hard work. I used to be a top player in Guitar Hero and I played for hundreds of hours on that as well. Occasionally there would be someone new right near my skill level, and within a few months that had blown by my ability and was doing things way more than I could ever do, yet I was still playing for hours a day trying to improve. That guy absolutely deserved to be better than me because he worked hard and improved more than I could, and I don't want you to feel like some of us are bitter that some people are naturally more gifted at this game than other, or that we are trying to downplay your accomplishments.

    Yeah Max, I'm not trying to say that those top players haven't put their blood, sweat, and tears to get where they are, nor am I saying the people who quit before passing the extremes just aren't good enough. I'm saying it as the OP says it: you can get so much momentum for improvement from when you first play the game, then you'll eventually hit a roadblock, which then takes an eternity to pass.

    That's how I feel at least. Take Sunset Stripped for example. I'm around 130, but I could get maybe top 75 or top 50 if I get my personal best run + completing the last timesaver (in my current run, I pussed out and did a basic lean forward). But the hope in achieving top 10 or top 25 just isn't there because, even with the timesavers all done right, my leaning is just too imperfect compared to the riders at the very top. Speaking of global rank, the best I can do is analyze what I'm doing wrong on other tracks and do my best to correct them. But like I said, it's more and more difficult.

    I'm not wanting to make it look like I'm complaining and throwing out excuses. Personally, I'm satisfied with how far I've gotten. I've just accepted the fact that I'm not capable of getting to the first page or even close to it.
