Ok, here's my stretch. The Pixies. Wave of Mutilation cover features a metalish blob like the pic, Black Francis also has the letters abrain. I said it was a stretch.

Clue 1 was a black square. DD/MM/YYYY released an album of the same name, Black Square.

Reading about Johannes Trithemius, his most famous work was placed on "Index Librorum Prohibitorum" for nearly 300 years but deleted off the list shortly after 1900. The album Black Square was released in Europe on the Deleted Art label in Europe.

Barani - an honourable title given to the warriors or kings in ancient Tamil Nadu. One member of DD/MM/YYYY is Matt King.

I would consider this a major band, but it's not one of the legendary holdouts along the lines of AC/DC, Metallica, Beatles, Pink Floyd, etc -- the ones that always get requested and we can never offer good news about.

I want to be careful here, as I don't want to give anything away, but this is not an indie pack -- it's a major-label artist with a successful career, multiple albums, and a fan base.

Blowfish was a clue to deciphering the black and white image. Not sure that it's gonna be used again

Blowfish has served its purpose. It was the encryption algorithm needed to decrypt the hidden image. No further relevance.
