Yeah I get you. I still have 23 faults on Inferno which cannot be doing it any good. I suppose I just thought about the mean average and thought, 666 seems a little high. I didn't even think of looking at how many faults I had. You have enlightened me....but now im gonna be playing inferno day and night trying to plat it...so thanks!!
No I mean it, thanks for taking the time to do all this. Repped!
Can you either update your spreadsheet or tell me how to (cant figure it out) add 2 extra columns that will show how many points you will get for saving 1/4 second and 1 second? like the photo below but make it work. Ive never really worked with spreadsheets, i tried copy pasta "My Score" Formula subtracting the appropraite value from the "My Time" cell, but i guess i dont understand the syntax of this crap. Keep in mind that this, if it worked, would just give me my new score, what i want to see is just how many points i would gain. This way i can easily scan through and see what track i can save time on to gain the most points from.

Damn, it's spreadsheet mayhem in here! Here's my version: Global Scoring Vantier Version
Not sure why but the simple time subtraction you used kn000t wasn't working for me (probably because I hadn't formatted the cells properly, like a dummy. Nice job kn000t!) so I had to get tricky. Sadly, Excel seems blissfully unaware that fractions of a second are vitally important in Trials, so I could only do it with a 1 second time reduction with this formula.
Example at plat medal times below. As the fault factors are the same across all tracks this time, the gains should be pretty uniform. The differences will arise due to the size of the time gaps between thresholds and these will naturally increase as the tracks get harder because platinum times tend to be more generous. Longer tracks will suffer from the same problem. I'm a bit surprised they didn't leave fault factors at 0.1 like they did for all tracks in the Evo DLCs. That allowed for more pronounced points gains for incremental improvements. Of course, people with faults wouldn't see their score improving at all so it's a difficult balance to strike.

Wraaath. So how it works, I believe it is in Defo's OP at the top of page one, but basically say if you have around 100 faults, and you take 50 off, you won't get much score. But if you have 5 faults and take 3 off which leaves you with 2, you get a lot more score because the amount of faults is lower. The lower faults you are on, the more score each fault is worth. You will get like 100k for going from 1 fault to 0 fault. 70k from 2 faults to 1 fault. 50k from 3 faults to 2 faults. But when it reaches a point, for example 25 faults, each fault you take off above 25 you will only get a set amount e.g. 500 for each fault. Sorry if it's explained badly.
@ Wraath: Pretty much what Venomz said, moving from 14 faults down to 7 will only get you 700 points which won't make much difference on the Global LBs. For fault counts of 7+, you'll only gain 100 points per fault knocked off as per your example. From now on though, you should start to notice much bigger gains from removing faults as per the table in the OP. Time doesn't make any difference at fault counts that high either and really doesn't matter much compared to faults. As per the example in the OP, you can almost time out with a zero fault run and you'll score more points than a very fast 1 fault run.
The other possibility that I should have mentioned in the previous response is that your score might be glitched. Looks like it's happened to a few people already. If you literally got 0 points, that may be your problem, but it's unlikely. Only way to know for sure is to download the sheet and plug all your times in to check if your global matches.
