Global Track Central v2.0
Hi guys,
Some of you might remember a little project of mine called Global Track Central (GTC), do you? One of the things I tried to do was solve some of the organizational problems Track Central was suffering from. Unfortunately the site wasn't used too much and it didn't really succeed. One of the reasons was probably the requirement on Windows, IE and Silverlight.
With Fusion I can only imagine that guys like Morillo will be actively pursuing their custom database solutions and I wonder if someone should take on a GTC v2!
Things we can solve with this (just to name a few):
- Single repository for ALL custom trials tracks, TrialsSE, HD, Evo, Gold and Fusion
- Better searching and tagging (e.g. Ninja Level [1..5] and user created custom tags),
- Doesn't contain garbage tracks
- Start a discussion / Post comments for a Track
- Host tournaments
- Filter on platform (XBOX360/1, PS4, PC)
- Filter on DLC pack
- URL for creators (e.g. http://gtc.com/~username )
Have a look at this thread so see how awesome GTC v1.0 was.

With version v1.0 I mostly put out the software and was looking for backers / supporters. The reactions in the forums were great but still GTC never really took off in the community. Maybe I was trying to solve a problem that didn't exist, I simply felt that the Excel spreadsheets and the "<Username> Tracklist Thread" were getting hard to get through ..
What do you guys think? Could this work? Everybody has been bummed by the new TC and I am truely hoping that Redlynx will listen to the community (which I reckon they have always done). However, we will still need the forums to make those expert creators (YOU) stick out in the chaos.
- Would you like to see a better GTC v2.0?
- How should I involve the community, in which way and who?
- What features can you think of that would be awesome?
Feel free to flame my idea's, I can take it.

Hi
Hope you have time to check this out. I think my ideas can really succeed in making Track Central a better experience. I'm already having trouble finding good tracks, and I think all the people in this sub forum are dedicated enough to use a community driven system.
If you want to check out what GTC looks like right now, go here:

ps; if you get a message saying you don't have Silverlight please install it. I know it was a bad choice to rely on that technology and I can make the site work without it using HTML for all computers and mobile devices.

I was trying to remember the other day who set up GTC before but couldn't for the life of me recall.

I don't know if you are mates with morillo but I'm sure his custom list could work in tandem with your database.
