Another fairly straightforward way of fixing the tricks in speed ruining would be to add a 5 second penalty at the end of your time. That way at least the tricks would still look the same. I don't like the sound of the game slowing down when entering and leaving tricks - sounds like it would put me off, and isn't in keeping with the fluidity of tricks. A 5 second penalty at the end of the run if you perform a trick would keep the integrity of the leaderboards while keeping gameplay exactly the same. Probably the easier (read cheapest) patch to implement too...

In my opinion the cleanest and purest way of fixing this whole issue is to disable FMX tricks unless on the FMX tracks. I know some will disagree, but any other fix to me seems confusing and potentially opens up other issues. Disable FMX, wipe the leaderboards, start again...we are only a few days in, all records will be beaten again very soon.
Time penalties, slow motion, longer tricks...all seem fraught with other issues imo.

I think only remove times of people using the right stick in the top 100 of each track(sooner rather than later) then remove FMX from trials levels.

The problem with that is some of the challenges require you to do certain tricks at specific places. If they remove the ability to preform tricks they we can't complete those challenges. Having your time void if you perform a trick could work though - similar to how some racing games void your qualifying time if you go off track, or take a shortcut.

I don't want to seem like an *** but one unsticked post about one redlynx trials developer stating that they're looking into things 3-4 days after it was released...w/e, this game will hopefully be better, but it will never reach the standards of evo...regardless, people shouldn't apologise about their outbursts, they were full of emotion, but were rational. And they all had a right to be. I hope that the core issues get fixed asap because they really are core components of what a finished game should be. Also what's with every single object feeling as though it has custom collisions on them, ahhh I won't even start.

Ah, good point. The void thing could work, seeing as it is unlikely you use the right stick during normal runs anyway...all I know is I am glad something will be done, FMXploit to me ate away at the very core of what I love about trials.

I would be mightily annoyed if I got a world record and had accidentally hit the right stick during the run :P

True mate. imo FMX should never have been anywhere near the core trials mode...ever. But hey, what do I know?! Quad and FMX belong in a naff kids game, with rockets, loops and explosions....

Surely someone at Redlynx could find or use a tool to make it so that if a FMX trick is done, then it doesn't allow their time at the end to show up on the leaderboard. Think of it in some ways similar to other games like GTA, if you activate a cheat (in this example it's using FMX tricks) then it will deactivate the use of the leaderboards, making it so that all the peoples times with FMX tricks should be removed and you can still play the tracks and complete challenges using FMX with no further problems.
