Everything about this game is appealing, the fact that I own all of the Trials games, and that it looked like a huge improvement from the predecessors. Of course, I got the game on launch day, to see what it was like. First of all, everything about the game is more inviting than that of the other games, brighter menus, simplistic and cool music! The tutorials are pretty much the same in every trials game, except in this one, an AI guides you. Redlynx really focused on making the game more inviting, because the levels start off EXTREMELY easy. Every level in beg-med I have gold. Slowly but surely, the game builds you up to harder tracks, and then *BOOM* you fail alot.
On one level, I think 'Ice Breaker' the level design took away ANY speed I had, for instance, at the start you jump over concrete objects, but after that, if you aren't going fast enough, you will crash into a beam. Another, is one of the FMX tracks, you will crash your head into a cylinder if you go to fast and you are doing massive tricks. Another thing, whenever I press B to go to the last checkpoint, there is a 2-4 second delay, I don't know if this is a bug, but in Trials Evolution this was not present. That is all I have against this game. A couple of levels and a little bit of lag. Although I did complete the campaign in 2 hours, I did the same with Evo, as these games are meant to be completed and then replayed.
Some good points are that the majority of the levels are good, but a couple like I mentioned earlier, are not. The level creator is great, and much more better than evo's, however, one thing that should be added is when entering the medal times, an easier way to enter times would be great. Another positive is the way that this game is way more professional than that of evo. Now, when I say professional, I don't mean that evo was not made by pros, but in terms of effort put into the game with the menus and level design, Fusion comes out in front.
Overall I really love this game, a good start to Q2 and a great sequel from Redlynx.
Oh yeah, and please take a look at my track, Wrecking Ball.
Thanks for having an awesome community and I look forward to seeing multiplayer soon!![]()
Have to say, I had to double check it didn't say 'RedLynx employee' under the forum name (joke).Originally Posted by purpleoozi Go to original post
Many great aspects to the game but massive issues with Track Central (of which there is no mention at all in this review) keep this from being anywhere above 6-7/10 for me...but it's getting hard to stay objective recently with many of the decisions RL/Ubi have been making (Frontier, forum move, now Fusion TC). Disgruntled? yep, Dismayed? yep...
Haha, I can see where you are coming from with that joke. Although ubi changed a lot, they kept the basics of trials and they added new things, like fmx, which you don't have to do. The majority of the bad things I hadn't noticed yet was the tracks aren't downloaded, TC is better though, search is great, but lack of tracks on 360 is crap.Originally Posted by morrillo Go to original post
Wow, I have to say that I was shocked to see this rating, especially as you have HD and Evo.
I hate FMX, didnt want to do it but I had to so that I had enough medals to unlock the next stage of tracks so yes, you do HAVE to do FMX.
Also im not sure I agree that they have kept the essence of trials, there are too many tracks with no real obsticals, just super fast rollercoaster tracks.
Yeah I also feel like a lot of the driving lines are similar, especially in the beginner/easy/medium tracks.Originally Posted by shakeyclaret Go to original post
How can you have played Evo and still rate this 9,5? To each their own, I suppose.
FMX is starting to grow on me but I have no idea how to do some tricks so I just randomly do something.
I had good hopes that even if the game itself wasn't that great, TC could bring it back up.
I know it's too soon to tell, but I see a lot of good creators saying they're disappointed with the game so I hope that doesn't mean they won't build tracks for it.
If not for TC, this game has no lifespan, in my opinion anyway.
But if they bring out good quality DLC, that would make up for it.
You serious? Lack of tracks? The game just came out, you should not expect tracks yet.Originally Posted by Kid_Crafter Go to original post
Also, FMX should not be praised, it is sloppy and works half the time. They would have been better off ditching FMX, and the story and working on MP while saving that money on ****ty voice actors. Seriously, this game is not nearly as good as Trials Evolution. I'm not going to stop playing it, but it is a 5-6/10 at best for me, anything higher is too generous.
