Hi all -
I'm pretty excited about the so-called new generation of console hardware! By no means outperforming my PC at the moment but hey, they do have new controllers!
About those, I own a PS4 and a 360! I'm living somewhere at the bottom of the ocean where Xbox One's aren't released yet so I naturally don't own one yet! My friend does and he is stoked about the controller, as am I with the PS4 one.
I've tried the PS4 on the PC with Trials Gold and I noticed that the most important button of the game (trigger) is totally different from the 360! Do you know how this compares to the between the PS4 and XB1? Will PS4 players have a slight disadvantage because the angles of trigger presses are shorter (thus less accurate). I'm not even sure if they are and neither do I know how this affects gameplay ..
I would like to know before I spent an X amount of dollar on the game though ..
Cheetos
Oh, before I forget!
The ps4 controller doesn't work with Trials if you plug it in. Frustratingly enough Steam will recognize it and allow you to navigate the Steam app menu's. Trials Gold seems to be only allow Microsoft controllers. To get it working I had to use a virtual Xbox 360 controller driver that is mapped to the PS4 Controller, terrible terrible solution that is not accurate enough to play Trials on a decent level.
So don't get your hopes up .is what I am saying
Thanks for the tip!Originally Posted by magimix Go to original post
I'm also using the DS4 software but perhaps it is just me. Theoretically it should have a significant delay, especially because it is using the windows message pump to send out the inputs and also because the app itself is a managed .NET solution which has all kinds of performance implications.
Are you nailing your plats?
Cool stuff. So what do you think about the triggers then? I noticed the DS4 triggers are soo much shorter than the X360 one .. it made me wonder if it could affect gameplay.Originally Posted by magimix Go to original post
Yes, you press the touchpad on the left to restart.Originally Posted by S-Wallis Go to original post
Hmm .. I was hoping back and restart would both be the Options button. I'm bothered with the touchpad positioning although I haven't had to press it on its side yet ..Originally Posted by BlueBadger400 Go to original post![]()
