Hey Vantier, nice tutorial, just one point I wanted to make. You say there are 14 tricks? But then you say there are either 4 or 5 tricks in each position. 5 when your bike is up right, then 4 on the others. That would make a total of 17 tricks.
i guess you meant that the 4th on the other 3 positions is the repeat of the coffin trick?
yes thats what i meant, i also mention in the next video that there are actually 40 total FMX tricks without really explaining much.Originally Posted by NSPIV Go to original post
40 because there is a back and front flip variation for every trick except proud hero so.....
13*3+1=40
Now that this thread is stickied and PC release is on the horizon, I will be sure to Completely update and redo the opening post to try to make it as clear and concise as possible. And once i think i have solid 1st place runs on every track, i may go into each of my runs and breakdown each FMX track explaining what i did and why, as well as how it can be done better. We will see.......
Anyone is welcome to contribute to the opening post if you think any information should be added/changed or maybe you make a video that explains it better or maybe you discover a new mechanic or really good combo, etc.go ahead and post it and i will work it into the OP (Dont want it to be too cluttered with to much duplicate info though).
Dont worry, ill also make an "Easy Plat" strat for every FMX track for riders in your situation (Though i strongly disagree with the "incosistent" statement).Originally Posted by Retribution Go to original post
In the meantime however, i would suggest you just think of every jump like you are playing "FMX Master" but rather then the game telling you what trick to do next, just do a trick you havent done yet.
Polar Accelerator was horrible to get platinum for, spent hours doing it lolOriginally Posted by Retribution Go to original post
Its was so satisfying when I received 36,000 points from one jump...at that moment I released that this particular run was going to be the one that gets me platinum
This is a great thorough explanation of the trick system. I'll have to study this as the fmx system currently makes about as much sense to me as a convoluted POS. the game does a tremendously aweful job of enlightening the player about how these things work. The tricks are hard to figure out, and even harder to memorize as a result. Plus I don't recall ever seeing an explanation of the combo system within the game(kinda super important!), which seemed random and confusing until now.
This game prides itself on being simple and intuitive, but the fmx system is anything but. I guess casual players, 95% of people playing, don't care that these things aren't explained, as it makes no difference to them. But I prefer the details to have an explanation that isn't so vague, or nonexistent.
Im no expert but i found that its pretty important to build up your multiplier bonus to get the most score... this can be done by:Originally Posted by Retribution Go to original post
1.Getting perfect landings.
2.Holding multiple tricks where possible.
3.Performing a variety of tricks.
I also found out that you get the most points from a single trick after the trick name turns orange on screen, so be sure to hold a trick until its name turns orange before you do another trick.
Not quite accurate, Perfect (and maybe Great) landings will extend your current multiplier but will not build it up.Originally Posted by Gangly_ Go to original post
And holding a trick until it becomes "Locked" AKA turns orange, not only gives the trick an immediate point boost, it is also the only way a trick will add a multiplier. Releasing a trick before it locks although gives you points, lacks the Lock bonus and multiplier.
