Funny; Trials Frontier has truly got me bummed out. . .so much potential wasted.
But somehow (even after hearing all these complaints and pre-release concerns) I still feel pretty upbeat about Fusion. You guys seem awfully down on a game you've only seen a small part of. Comes from overanalyzing the little data you have, and blowing it out of proportion, IMO. Every game always has SOME feature that just isnt ready at the start....thats just what happens when you have as many moving parts as a game this complex has. . .yet have to meet a deadline. You either have faith RL is doing the right thing and will make it right. . .or not. With Trials HD and EVO, I think they earned my faith.
Reserving my opinions until I've played it.
I feel upbeat about the game too! I never really liked the non technical tracks anyway, i thought they were too luck based. Also we don't even have track central yet! C'mon!Originally Posted by xitooner Go to original post![]()
The tire glitch has affected the fastest bike ("Scorpion" / "Roach") more than other bikes in all Trials games. Try remembering getting a perfect run in Trials HD tracks such as Jolly Jumper, Classic (the big drop), Rock'n'Drop (big drop) or The Big Ride with the Scorpion. Trials Evolution moved the game outdoors, and we had much bigger jumps and higher speed in beginner and easy tracks, making the tire glitch more common in these high speed tracks. Fusion beginner and easy tracks have even higher speed, so even with our physics stability improvements, the tire glitch still unfortunately is happening sometimes with the fastest bike ("Roach").
I am confident that hard core players will again find the game enjoyable once they get their hands on the medium, hard and extreme tracks, and the Pit Viper bike ("the new Phoenix"). The more agile trials bike has always had more loose suspension and slower speed, making it much less susceptible for the tire glitch. Also the bike speed is slower in the harder tracks, and this helps against tire glitch as well. The Pit Viper will play very close to the Phoenix in medium, hard and extreme tracks. The part of the game that you enjoy the most is definitely still there.
@Sebastian: Wow. It's nice to have a non-community manager (no offense to them) contribute to the discussion.
The problem is that, if you are going to compete on the global leaderboards, you have to compete on all single player tracks. So we can't simply skip the glitchy tracks.
The Trials HD tracks were much more technical in general, thus alleviating the issue of high speed. The more simple the lines tend to be, the more tire glitches tend to happen. It's a lose/lose in my opinion.
I'm sure that will be the case with the tricks, but I just think it's going to add flare to the end of everyone's run and be simple enough that everyone can do it. I don't like the sound of so many physics objects if they're on the driving line.
