at some point they must have updated the updated-executable and it doesn't work since
luckily i still have the executable that works.

I'm probably not allowed to post that, but here goes nothing!
Thanks, worth a shot, but it didn't work for me. Gave me an error.Originally Posted by petsie87 Go to original post

No. Nothing about this situation makes sense.Originally Posted by mattcmann Go to original post
Yes, it is a beta, and yes we all expected bugs. We expected to come here and help fix them. On Saturday we all encountered a major bug and did exactly that.
Then we were told it affects all Windows 8 machines. It has already been fixed. But it's the weekend and no one at Red Lynx can be bothered to test the fixed build and upload it.
This is poor for several reasons. I find it strange that, apparently, a major video game developer does not test their builds on Windows 8. As in, they don't even run a new build on Windows 8, at all, period. I find it illogical and contrived that "we should expect the game not to work because it's a beta," and yet we are not allowed to run the fixed build, that reportedly exists right now, because "it hasn't been tested yet." That is the entire purpose of a beta. So in other words, we can't complain if something doesn't work, yet we also can't be trusted with untested builds --- because they might not work? It already doesn't work, to the maximal degree of not working.
This isn't a minor bug. This is a game that people paid $20-40 for, that previously worked, and that was essentially obliterated by a remote update. And RedLynx haven't done anything about it --- they haven't patched it, haven't bothered to roll back the build version, or even make it possible to roll back. Why? Because it's the weekend. Because it's a pseuo-beta program, which means nothing is guaranteed to work, but you also can't be trusted to actually beta-test a new build. In other words, most of these big companies define 'beta program' as a situation in which you pay full price, but relinquish all consumer rights.
Well, no. It's ridiculous, and only EA, Ubisoft and car dealerships seem to think they can treat paying consumers like this. We all know what a beta test is, and this isn't it. I'd encourage everyone to slam Steam with refund requests. I already have.
I did. It gave me an error looking for a .dll (or maybe some other file extension). I should've took a screen shot, but didn't.Originally Posted by petsie87 Go to original post

Well it means that either you copied it into the wrong folder or (more likely) you are not using the steam version (which is the only one i own) in which case I'm afraid i can't help you.
if anyone is using the steam version and has the crash on start use my .exe to replace the one in "Steam\steamapps\common\Trials Fusion - Closed Beta\datapack"
I love you. Fixed the game for me, thanks a lot!Originally Posted by petsie87 Go to original post
Says a lot about Ubisoft when you supplied us with a fix before they could.

It was risky for him to post it and for me to download it but hey I just couldn't wait any longer.
Ubisoft, I'm really disappointed in you, don't act like Origin please!
I'm on Uplay. Glad your fix is working for those on Steam. Hopefully someone can get a Uplay version up so I can try the new tracks today.Originally Posted by petsie87 Go to original post
Exactly the same for me.Originally Posted by Smilies2013 Go to original post
I have Windows 8 not 8.1, the game was fine until the latest update.
