    New pc content 16th?

I'm was almost sure this has been asked somewhere but couldn't find it.

Since launch date on PC is only 24th, do we get new content on the 16th for the beta when Fusion releases on all other platforms? Or at least unlock as many things as possible? Or do we have to wait? I was exited with the beta at first, but with the lack of content I barely even play it And yes, I know a beta is not to "play" but to test things. But with this low content there is even hardly anything to test...

I will be pretty dissapointed if there will be bugs on launch in content that wasn't unlocked in the beta

You'll have to wait. In beta there's a lot of things to test that might not require all the tracks to be played like leaderboards and so forth. Just by testing you're helping the teams involved with PC version to improve it and make it better for everyone at launch.

You've gotten a good taste of Fusion way before the other platform players

Yes I know, but what's the difference with the consoles, if they are finished (and working) already on the 16th but PC still needs testing till 24th? Why not open everything up (like the editor) for PC players so we can test that too? It's possible since the tcc finalists have access to the whole game so why would you limit beta testers like this? I agree it does not require all tracks to be played and such, but there can always still be bugs in locked content (like the editor, challenges, track optimization, the new features...).

Don't get me wrong, it's not only because I want to play the game in all it's glory, but I just want the pc version to have a flawless release, unlike gold edition had. If Fusion still has bugs on release just because of locked content during the beta then that was a pretty poor descision.

What you're essentially suggesting is that you are given the entire game free of charge for a period of time. NO GAME is going to do that, Trials is no different. Betas are always limited in scope, but provide the feedback the developers are looking for.

i agree with bassline001, the beta was awesome for a few days, but beginner and easy tracks are not that much.
And i also agree if the editor has bugs in it on full release, then im scared we have same problems as in evo gold.
We dont want full acces, but we should at least be able to test.......
    1: all bikes
    2: editor
3: at least 2 tracks of each dificulty level.

First of all, no I'm not suggesting that. I was under the impression you could only access the beta when you pre-order the game itself, wich since we already bought the game, isn't really free of charge. And basically it's you guy's who benefit the most of this. And even if you can consider that free of charge, it's to give feedback to the developers and help the release of the game why we play the beta so you would have te be crazy to let people acually pay (more then release price) to play a beta. It helps you guys in cleaning up bugs and It's essentially free publicity.

I know you guy's have been giving away keys for free, but if you would have descided to unlock everything, that could easily be skipped and only given keys to people who pre-ordered the game.

You could also open just more parts of content, like editor for example with limited functionality, so we can mess around and see if we encounter bugs in there. I would rather have less tracks to play, but more diversity on content to check for bugs.

My main concern is there is probably not enough unlocked content to find all the bugs before launch. If you guy's are confident this isn't the case and there won't be bugs in "unlocked" content on release then I'm fine with that and I apologise for my lack of faith (this is because mostly every game these days on launch still have major bugs). I guess we will see on launch if this was the right descision. I only hope for a bugless release so nobody is turned off on release but enjoys the game as much as I do!

Firstly, I am not employted by Rl. I am a volunteer who moderates the forums. I have no part in the developement process. Just want to be very clear about that!

Secondly, the risk is peoipe who preorder a game to get a beta, play it, enjoy it, and cancel the preorder. Offering so much content leaves a company open to this kind of practice. Which is not what I am accusing you guys of. I am talking about people who may not have played trials much/at all and use that as a way to play th egame with no cost involved.

There is a fine balance between too little content and not enough I would imagine. But compare the Fusion beta with many others. Take Titanfall as an example. Only ran to level 17 and with 2 maps. Fusion actually has a lot of content for a beta imo.

But everyone has their own opinions on what the "right" amount of content is for a beta. Voicing those views is fine. But at the end of the day, the developer (of any game) has an objective to test certain things with their beta. And thats where they focus the content, etc. To get feedback on THOSE specific areas. At least, to the best of my understanding, thats the theory! lol

I don't think making everything open in a beta will have alot of people do that. If they like it, they will probably not cancel, and if they don't they would have probably not preordered it in the first place. And if they do, it can be considered a demo in a way, since most of the time you still have a limited time to return a game. I don't think alot of people would do that. Even then RL can just unlock everything on the 16th when it comes out on the other platforms, since we where essentially promised the same release day.

Yes, titanfall had locked content, but what was locked was essentially the same as the unlocked content (other maps, weapons), in Fusion there is a bigger variety in content . And that's what bothering me the most. Like I said, I would rather test more different things and have less content then more of the same. And I believe gold edition beta, didn't even have locked content in the beta.

And yes I am not delusional and I know me bringing this up won't change anything, I just wanted to voice my opinion on this with the possible problems it can bring. Like I said, if the locked content is bugged on release I don't think they made the right descision of locking it in the first place, since a beta is to find bugs... Again, I could be wrong on this but seeing so many games on launch who still have bugs in them, I don't want to see the same happening with fusion. I guess we will see on launch what happens...I just hope I don't get dissapointed.

The consoles/publisher have obviously paid for a console 'exclusive'...

There was an update yesterday but it broke the game on windows 8 (and 8.1)! Should be fixed Monday.

Offering a closed then open Beta through pre-orders was very generous of RL. Plus the support for the PC version so far has been quite good. People have posted defects on this here forum and the dev team have ponied up and fixed them.

Plus. You've had access to a great percentage of the features available in the final release. I don't see what's to whinge about.
