Anyone ever wanted a podcast featuring Corey May?? I feel like Darby, Jeffery and many others got their chance to talk about their creations, what their intentions were when creating their ideas, how they created these things...etc. We'v never heard Corey speak about AC III. There're so many things i'm sure many people would love to ask him...I have questions myself..
So....Loomer...anyone...can you do this if it's popular enough? I know you're busy right now with Mary Reed's VA's Podcast but you know....just throwing ideas out there.
Aye!
I second this here motion! I was thinking about it myself! in the other thread! I think now that AC3 has had time to be almost 2 years old now and settled it can be appreciated by some a little more! I would also like to ask questions as well!![]()
Hopefully this can be a "thing" for real! Should there be a poll on this? (Not that it would matter but maybe something as a visual?)
Hmm...I dunno...Polls can sometimes be dumb...people might vote no for ****s and giggles >_>Originally Posted by poptartz20 Go to original post
In my opinion, writers should never explain what their deep intentions were. Jeffrey Yohalem tried to do it for Far Cry 3 (which was really one of the most complex and interesting game about videogames for a while), everyone spat on him on the internet.
What you need is to learn to analyze and interpret. Or you need to have people to help you for it in a first time. And that should be the role of the video game press : analyzing games through interesting axes, instead of rating them pseudo-objectively....
Plus, remember that a writer can have an intention, but it won't necessarily work. At the opposite, there are things you can see that weren't intended by him. You need to focus on the final product, not the original idea. But for that, you need to train you abilities in analyze by thinking on the meaning of the acts of the characters, their relations between them, the art design, etc... I'm not talking about the more evident layer of the scenario (in case of AC 3, "a naive man who wants peace"), but to dig deeper in the mise en scène ("the american revolution as the representation of the mental conflict of a child torn between his British and Indian origins", for example).

Posting my questions anyway
Questions:
1.) Did Haytham let himself die? Why did you choose the words "I should have killed you long ago" as Haytham's final words?
2.) In AC: Liberation, when asked if Connor agrees with the assassin methods, he hesitates then responds "I trust my own hands." Just how passionate is Connor towards the Assassin philosophies, specifially after he found his village abandoned?
3.) What would you say is the overall message of AC3 (In terms of Connor's storyline)?
4.) Do you ever wish you could go back and change anything in AC3? If so, what?
5.) Is there any thing in AC3 that you wrote that goes unnoticed or people tend to misinterpret?
6.) Can there be moderates in the Assassin Creed universe? (i.e. people who believe regulation/control in some things and freedom in others?)
Bonus silly question we all know won't get answered:
7.) Connor sequel pls?
Nah, I don't care if people have a bad reaction. I wanna know specifically what the writer intended to say.Originally Posted by menumaxibestof Go to original post
Then you spoil the game between him and the audience.Originally Posted by Mayrice Go to original post
I mostly agree with this assessment. That's why I actually love AC III's story the most. I loved interpreting things on my own. I loved noticing subtleties, i loved building the blocks to missing pieces. I enjoyed all of that. I enjoyed analyzing Connor's character but i would just like to hear the writer's assessment of all of those things. I mean, sure...i love interpretation but i'd like to hear the writer talk about it too.Originally Posted by menumaxibestof Go to original post
