I have no issue waiting for MP with a later patch, as long as the game being released without it is not an indication that other things were rushed to meet a deadline.

I personally would have preferred a disc release that was 'complete', and would have happily waited for the whole game to be finished in a few months...many want anything as early as they can get it though, I know.

No offence, but you have no idea wether Ubisoft are putting pressure on the release or not. It may simply be that RL chose to try something new/different with MP and rather than postpone release of the game, they simply decided to add it as a free dlc/p[atch after release.

Red Lynx don't get as much of a say anymore... to some extent anyway. Ubisoft own them and Ubisoft decide what happens.

I'm actually reading between the lines of what ANBA said in an interview. It sounds as if they have something very interesting planned, so I'm working on the assumption that it turned out to be more complicated to implement than expected, hence the delay in MP only and not the game.

To be frank, any of us could be right in what the reason for the delay is. None of us know and we're all just spitballing theories and ideas! lol

When I heard about this news it completely killed a lot of the hype that I had for this, I loved Evolution but basically only really played in private lobbies online with my friends. Most of them live too far away to do local multi, and being able to race together was one of the biggest reasons we all wanted this again.

The problem with only leaderboards is that means whoever sets the top time is all anyone goes after, where when you play multi normally a different person can win on the same track each time you do it, making it more fun when you have a group of people that have various different skill levels.

We were all planning on picking this up right away, and now we are unsure since there won't be multi. We still want to play the game but with them only touting a "completely new" style of multiplayer but not saying at all what it is, is really off-putting, especially with the game coming out tomorrow. (Plus we may not actually like the multi they bring in if it's very different, we just want to play on the custom tracks online together at the same time).

I just really, really hope they bring back at least the private matches where you can play on any of the stages online with your friends, as that is the main feature me and my friends want to play.
