There already is a button to reset the whole track, there's no need to make it any more complicated. And if you're getting a PS4, that button is even easier to hit. But currently the non-caring team is trying to find solutions for reducing tire glitches and broken replays.

It wouldn't be hard to implement, and it's been requested (pink bold underline) since Trials HD. Checkpoints (in single player) are mainly for newer players, and very casual players. But, this is a competitive game with a large competitive following. Once you get the basics of the game down, they are more of a nuisance than anything.

how would you implement it xzample?

Stop trying to blackmail RLs team into doing things by saying they dont care. Theyre a development team and its their game that they might have certain decisions about whats best, or what they like for their game (and i know that were the ones that play it). But further on, i disagree with the speedrun mode B button thing. I think its good having a Ready, Go!' before you start each speedrun cause it kind of gives more of a feeling of a 'ok i failed that time, now here i go again. lets do this'. But this is all just to opinion, and i also agree that it wouldnt hurt adding in the feature for the people that want it. But they cant listen to everybody and everything. Also, not using the speedrun mode if it was in the game could be good for practicing certain parts of the tracks by pressing B to reset at checkpoint. But then again, it wouldnt hurt; could hit the checkbox when done practicing certain checkpoint to enable speedrun mode, and go at it. So overall conclusion, wouldnt hurt, but wouldnt hurt not being in it either (imo)
Mutetus i sent you a reply in another thread if you could help me out, thanks
EDIT: Didnt send you a reply, it was someone else lol meant to though, asking about getting my RL account linked and post count back
    thanks

i'm not talking about the countdown timer because thats more of a performance thingy although imo it would be great if they could reduce it

i just want to know how other people feel about the way b button, back button and track resetting work and if there is a way to improve it
mute said that there is already a button dedicated to speedrunning and resetting the track, while true i wonder if it can't be done better because people still keep asking for a speedrunmode

now whats interesting is finding out why they still want it and how they would fix it and if its even possible to fix

How would I implement it? It would simply be an on/off feature in the options menu. Enabling it would eliminate all checkpoints on each track (besides start and finish obviously). Pressing B in speedrun mode would instantly restart the run with no countdown, and pressing back would restart the run with a countdown. A simple feature that would streamline the speedrunning experience. Waiting for the countdown can become annoying after a couple hundred times in a single session. Those who are not avid speedrunners would not understand.

    1. Speedrunning mode, while I personally don't give a **** about the issue at hand, despite having spent 20+ days in riding time getting into the top 500, it is a logical issue that APPEARS to have a simple solution. The fact that RL has made numerous games since the issue came up, without implementing it, just leads me to believe the solution is much more convoluted than it seems. Evidently they've chosen to ignore a nitpicky, yes, nitpicky issue, since everything with restarting works as it should.(Im surprised no one is freaking the **** out about the fact that a dev just told you, 3 weeks prior to launch, that they are still trying to fix tire glitches, another big thing people b**** about. Admittedly, that one matters.)

    2. And 3. I believe a certain someone from the staff commented on a users request to not have certain frequently spammed/trolled items/features in the editor back in evolution. This staff members response to this request was a defense to the sanctity of including all these items/features, because they are tools to be used. What the user does with them is not on their conscience. I wholeheartedly agree with this, despite the fact that it leaves the door wide open for annoyances and frustration. All they can do to alleviate the pain is try to impliment refinements to their games structure to allow everyone to be satisfied, which could be an ever changing thing. Getting back on track, the use of the B button in the editor, and the splitting of the functions of x/lt and a/rt is merely just another tool for the creator to use. What the user does with it isn't your problem. If it could be used to troll, try thinking of things you could do so that a user can't ruin everyone's day lol (which seems silly to worry about. If I wanted to mess with people I already have plenty of means to do so in evolution). It's also, IMO one of the most glaring omissions to the game, and the biggest area for improvement (screw bike frigging FMX). The editor has the power to do damn near ANYTHING, and you are blessed by having a community that will drive your product for FREE by trying to prove how awesome and creative they are to the world, making super elaborate games. They will only get better and more fun with more intuitive button functions. So yeah, don't be hypocrites.

PS: I still despise these ubisoft forums!

I find the reset entire track button on 360 extremely easy to hit... when I'm attempting an extreme track rocking my thumb back and forth wildly and don't want to, haha! That is one huge bonus about the PS4 left stick being down below. I don't have to worry about accidentally hitting reset entire track.

I guess I wouldn't mind the speedrun mode as everyone describes. I know when I would attempt to speedrun, I'd get used to hitting Back to start at the beginning, then I'd get the DLC and just want to play the tracks and would be so used to hitting Back instead of B having to start all over. Not that big of a deal, though.

So in speedrun mode would you still get the red/green split times? I find those really helpful.

    Of course.

An option to disable split times would be nice, too. Some people get distracted by it.
