I finally could figure out how to post in this new forum by directly go to a thread and press reply (after x times of horrendous error message when clicking "log in" on the board index.
-----------------------------------------------
So, this forum has new features, but still lacks core things that was before. I am familiar enough with this kind of style, since another game forum I post has the same posting style, but the FLEXIBILITY is currently very slow, especially 5x longer loading (due to too many images everywhere) than before, over-bolded & un-collapsable game banners, the forum orders are not what I like and requires too much scrolling, clicking AND waiting. This forum is really soooooooooo crammed up.
Here are my feedbacks:
Navigation:
1) Slim down the overhead logo & game banners
2) Remove the trailers from the index. People are here to discuss, no one comes here to discover what Trials is
3) Every individual Trials sub-section can also be opened/collapsed. It takes too long to get whereI want to look at Trials Evo XBLA/Gold Edition General Discussion or User Creations, for example.
4) When I collapse a section, the image should get collapsed as well.
5) Reduce overall images to load the forums and threads faster (takes about 3s with my 18MB/s connection in this new forum, which took only 0.5s before )
6) RedLynx account login doesn't do anything when pressing ENTER. That should be more above the forum AND needs clickable button as well for login!)
7) Background image is TOO noisy. It should only have a single-colored background with 1 or 2 trials figures, e.g. like Trials HD poster.
8) Quick webchat link.
9) I WANT MY OWN TIMEZONE!!! (if I can?)
Thank you for reading this.

9) Top of any forum page right hand side, click Settings
In the settings page, left side menu, My Account > General Settings
Second section from the bottom, Date & Time options, there's a drop down menu for timezone.
Oh thank you! Missed that thing o_OOriginally Posted by Tully__ Go to original post
1) 2) 7) We're currently looking into formatting changes. As I am typing this, ShiftySamurai is running tests on color schemes and backgrounds.
3) This is the way we initially had it formatted and it was confusing. Once you go into a primary forum, you will be able to create a general post.
4) We'll look into that.
5) we've been receiving this feedback that it takes a while to load. I have not noticed this issue, but everything that's formatted right now is being looked at and taken into consideration.
6) This is still being worked on.
8) Please refer to the Forum Updates thread.
9) Answered by Tully.
another forum suggestion, make it so that the forum redirects you to the page you were on when login in
I may be missing this but:
When I'm messing around in notifications, settings, my profile, etc...it would be nice to have a link that takes me directly back to the RedLynx forums.
This would have to be implemented forum-wide, but it is something I can check into. It doesn't seem like there should be an issue with this functionality, but I am not the global forum admin.Originally Posted by sparkierjonesz Go to original post
I've taken to using the back button. The profile/notifications/settings pages are not specific to a single forum section, so implementing a link to return users back to just the RedLynx section of the forums would be unfair to the other games who have their forums hosted here.Originally Posted by vladiiiiiiii Go to original post
Unfair? I don't get it... Why would we want to see forums of other games we don't even own? Or at least put the games we own at the top so we can access them easily.Originally Posted by ShiftySamurai Go to original post
And when is this Image Verification going to go away? My post count is 456 at the moment and I still have to do this....why??...most of them are even barely readable
I get what Shifty is saying though. When you go to notifications, settings, etc. you're going to settings for the entire forum so it would be silly to have a link just for RedLynx. I'm just so used to having that giant RedLynx box to click whenever I wanted to return home to the forums.
Oh and where is my True Fan!! RIOTTTT...Senior Member just makes me look old
Just to step in - As I have had some experience of both the forum software and community moves in the past.Originally Posted by bassline001 Go to original post
The settings screen and other options - are globally set- so they need to be the same for every user - no matter what game they play [or games in most cases]
While it maybe possible to alter what settings each user sees - and the links relating to that - it would most likely not be a simple or easy thing to change, so I suggest you attempt to navigate as best you can - at present.
Many other communities have adjusted - it does take time, but I'm sure you and the others, will manage.
It's something the team can investigate on your behalf, however, but I wouldn't want to promise you anything.
I know you and many others are used to having the one forum group on the site - and using the other software for it - however you are now part of a larger more active forum - where people from many different games post and have interests in many different types of games.
Rather than rejecting that - which I know some seem to want to do, it maybe best trying to embrace it - since if we shut you off from the wider communities - by removing links to them - new people won't find you, adding to the richness of this community..
RedLynx is now part of the Ubisoft family, and that means being here on the Ubisoft forums - with the many hundreds of other communities..
If you don't want to ever see the other games etc - I suggest bookmarks and trying to accept that certain links to them, have to remain.
Re: Captcha - it will be removed, when depends on a number of things - being active on the forums over a period of time and also post count - it will be removed though, when however - is not easy to answer, since if we post the requirements, then the spammers have the advantage again.
This forum has been lucky so far, since while some may object to it being 'hidden' on the forum list - it has prevented the spammers from finding it too often
Have you tried signing in and out daily - or a few times daily? - if you auto sign in - sign out and try again - that sometimes triggers it to remove itself![]()
