Someone from RedLynx staff AKA regime user err rlmergeuser wrotehttp://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php...=1#post9677508[…]
To answer a few questions, RedLynx will remain RedLynx, right here in Helsinki. Our website and forums will be right here, we value the Trials and RedLynx games community obviously and don't want to change.

So much for giving a flying fork about the community and making false promises.
And I'm just someone who has only posted a couple of times on the old forums and had a few (somehow important) PM's.
Can't even imagine how the regulars, who contributed thousands of posts and important threads/infos might feel like right now.
Switching to UBI forums was indeed a wrong turn, a very wrong turn.
There was Trials history written in the old forum ... a lot of which is gone now.
Yeah, like two days prior to the merge?! How about mentioning ot two weeks prior, or doing a mailing to all members that they should archive their PM's and other kinda important stuff?Originally Posted by UbiJohkr Go to original post
Not to mention that those who had it, would lose their TF status, or that we'd have to use a crappy UPlay name which was chosen in a fraction of a femto-second instead of our established usernames?
well done ubsoft you have successfully ruined redlynx good and proper, this forum is absolute garbage im in no way going to take the time to try and learn how this rubish works and i dont think ill be seen on here ever, redlynx........... what the hell are u doing? why are you letting these people distroy your well earned reputation?....... im out, thanks a lot ubi thanks redlynx
The main page looks a great deal better now, and is actually somewhat manageable to find specific subforums. With two changes this forum has the potential to be useable.
1. We need the View Active Topics button back. There are a zillion sub forums, each with only a select few active threads in them. For those of us who like keeping tabs on the trials community (ie. ALL the regular forum goers) the View Active Topics was the best way to have your finger on the pulse of the community. It was the easiest way to find new interesting threads, check replies to your threads/posts, and have a general overview of the community at large.
The What's New? button does not work. I want to know what is going on with Trials. So does everyone else who visits these forums. Having to sift through pages of Assassin's Creed does not help our situation, or make us like these forums more. If functionality was implemented to filter by game so we can just see Trials stuff, this might work. This change is desperately wanting, and without it, these forums are going to take a serious hit.
2. Ditch the CAPTCHA. God is this annoying.
Change for the sake of change. Always a good idea. I'm not being sarcastic. No I'm not.
Haha. Really though: this was a terrible decision.
You can also follow individual topics or an entire sub-forum by subscribing from the Thread Tools / Forum Tools menu at the top. The Forum option isn't so obvious because for some reason the menu entry is in French, it is Suivre ce forum (follow this forum).Originally Posted by Ch4er0n Go to original post
Also, from the What's New page there's another link at the top, New Posts. This will bring back a list up to 40 pages (most recent at the top) of new posts you haven't read since your last visit.
ok, so if i subscribed to all the trials forums, it would give me something like the old view active topics button? if i do this, where can i find a list of new posts - similar to the New Posts tab under What's New? going to quick links -> subscribed threads doesnt do itOriginally Posted by Tully__ Go to original post
the New Posts section of What's New still doesnt help me at all, as it is not game specific
In your forum profile, General Settings, there's a section for choosing subscription preferences. The options are through your profile (default and always on I think), and instantly, daily or weekly using email. I'm not sure if some of those options are available to general users, but I use instant email notification. The email notifications will go to the email address associated with your forum/UPlay account.Originally Posted by Ch4er0n Go to original post
To view through your profile, just click the Settings link at the very top of any forum or topic page. As I don't use this very often I'm not entirely sure of how it works, but I think subscriptions with unread posts will display by default and clicking the "View All Subscriptions" button will display everything regardless of whether you've read it or not. There also seems to be an option to filter by forum.
Edit: Additionally, if you click the "My Profile" link at the very top of the page, in the default profile page you'll see a summary of the posts by yourself and anyone in your forum friends list during the last few hours.
To be honest, what exactly was wrong with the old forum? I thought it was great, now we've got the Ubisoft forums... my request is, bring back the old forum!
If you can't, can't someone who knows how just make one (fan-made)?
Edit: And there is no 'Active Topics' button either (and no, What's New is not it). Pleeaase just bring back the old forum. If you're gonna be working on this forum until it's perfect, it's gonna take a pretty long time. Even then, it won't be the same. The trials forums were classic, now Trials (I could be wrong) seems to be purely linked in with Ubisoft. Just stop ruining trials, or I'm out as well.
Finally managed to log in here, that was so much complicated! It reminds me all the Youtube/Google Plus thing, how to complicate something that was so easy to use. Like everyone else, I don't really like the new forums for now.
