DISCLAIMER: Im not trying to bash redlynx or ask loaded questions, i just want answers.
Im unaware of the situation on Xbox, but on PC, it seems as though the leaderboards go through abrupt surges of glitched global scores. By that i mean, everything is fine (Kinda), and then the next day i check all of the top 10 scores are glitched, at least thats what has seemed to happen the last couple times the top 10 have been recalculated/removed.
And this isnt to say the individuals are responsible, it just happens for whatever reason, my score for example is glitched like 300-500k higher then it should be.
The fact that the glitched scores seem to occur in waves, makes me pretty confident that its a glitch on the server side as opposed to something happening on the users end.
So......obviously assuming that the problem cant be fixed for evolution, because i have confidence it would have been fixed by now if that were the case.
1. Has the problem been identified and resolved for fusion, and or a new system put in place that will prevent it from happening?
2. If not, has the process for recalculating glitched scores been Streamlined/Automated?
EDIT: Actually, i guess me saying they arent loaded questions doesnt change that they are rofl , too late now though![]()
Idk man...
In a nut shell I look at it like this.
COD is one of the top grossing games ever right? And their servers are hacked regularly etc.
What's to say a small developer like Redlynx can actually stop that from happening when the "biggest" players in the gaming industry can't?
Get what I mean?
i get what you are saying shart, but with the level of glitched/hacked scores being relatively low i would think an automated recalculation system is a feasible way of keeping up.
designate, say, the top X% of global leaderboards/any track to be recalculated at a specific interval, filtering players that have been recalculated within some broader interval, that way you can cut down on number of inactive players getting recalculated all the time. not saying this is the be all end all of ideas, but it would likely eliminate the issues we have on the global leaderboards on PC.
Well, not saying that isnt the case, but people tend to throw around the word hack a bit to quickly when that is most likely not the case.Originally Posted by ShartRelief
But as i kinda mentioned, i myself have a glitched score, as do other people i know, and none of us "hacked" the system.
In my honest opinion i would guess at least 5% of all scores are glitched/incorrect. Most of them either being amounts too small to notice, or them not being up high enough on the leaderboards to accurately compare/notice.
How sad is your life if you hack servers or a game to improve your rank...that's even more sad than caring about your rank in a video game to start with.
-proud 350th ranked Evo player...in the WORLD
Ranks are fun to improve, but as always...how many people of the 1.6million play Trials and have more than 20 days of gameplay...or even try improving their rank? It's a deceptive thing. I can appreciate someone pushing to be better at anything, but there are probably only 1000 people who actively try to rank up and have the time to do so....that said...the top players are still better in the end.
Video games are something where even if you're good at them, it's not widely appreciated or something you're mentioning on a first date...or 3rd date...but after you get in maybe? Then watch her smile thinking....omg, this guy is a top 500 player. She then tells her friends and your local admiration goes through the roof.

So because in your opinion, people that care about the integrity of the leaderboards of a game are essentially assumed to be socially inept no lifes that should spend their time doing something that really matters. Redlynx shouldn't bother to try and fix the leaderboards nor should anyone even suggest or ask questions regarding leadboards because it is just feeding a bad habit that will take you no where in life? (paraphrasing of course)
1. You arent the arbiter of what is and isnt fun.
2. Nothing you do in life actually "matters", it is all subjective.
3. "I can appreciate someone pushing to be better at anything, but there are probably only 1000 people who actively try to rank up and have the time to do so....that said...the top players are still better in the end." This is literally a meaningless statement, because that literally describes any competition ever in the history of the world, trials being no exception. So i guess your actually just arguing against competition in general?
4. As previously stated, you seem to assume everyones goal in life should be to do something that most of the world finds interesting so that they can brag about it on a first date, the ultimate goal in life, obtaining a girlfriend? GTFO
Correct me if i made any false accusations.
PS: The smiley face at the end of your first statement does not negate how insulting it is.
