Custom object as game character in "trials" track

I’ve been working on a platformer that works like a trials track (get from start to finish with the least amount of time and faults) and would like to release it as a trials track for multiplayer purposes. I have a few questions that I hope someone can help me with.

Is there a reason why you don’t see many trials tracks using custom objects as the game character, maybe some technical issue?

I heard that ending a trials track with an end event will not score in multiplayer. Will using a game event and letting the rider roll over the finish line fix this?

I’ve also been experiencing a glitch while multiplayer testing where one player’s screen will continue to darken as they progress through the level until it completely blacks out. I was thinking it might have to do with how far away the “game character” is from the rider and it’s messing up the environment settings. The level does have black fog and a decreased view distance. Any ideas on what could be causing this and how to fix it, or if maybe it’s just my xbox acting up and this won’t happen after uploading?

As long as the rider is still on his bike then you can use him to finish the track. Freeze the rider & have the end event unfreeze him is 1 way.
I have had problems in mp with sound sources going all wacky, but never where it goes dark. Your tracks-skills games are outstanding. Good luck!

When people see the word trials, they think of the bike game, and anything that is not the bike is a skill game. As for that blackout problem, if it is indeed the rider's fault, you could joint him to a dummy that ope's behind the object. Make his invisible, weightless and silent, then Reset to Checkpoint to finish the race. It could also be the maximum draw distance, or leaving the area-of-effect of a weather condition tool, if any.

Try setting another camera away so ypu can watch the character enter the roblem area. If it still goes black, it's the character. If not it may be the camera or something else.

Thank you. I wish I finished half the stuff I started. Hopefully this one will not disappoint

That's a great idea with the test camera! I'm not currently using a condition tool so I'll mess around with that too. I hope it doesn't come down to moving the rider like that, I tried streamlining everything to avoid lag and that might ruin my efforts.
