I think that the reason most Trials HD veterans found Evolution to be easier is because they spent moths/years improving their skills in Trials HD before ever playing Trials Evolution. Those skills didn't disappear when players switched over. They didn't need to learn how to take those steep hills, or do a bunny hop on an incline, as they had previously learned it in Trials HD.
Because of this, Trials HD players found Evolution to be far easier than HD. It's not really that Trials Evolution was easier (Dark City Run & The Forge?!) it's that you guys got better by playing massive amounts of player created extremes in Trials HD.
This is why Track Central is such an important addition to the Trials franchise. You can keep finding, and building, more difficult tracks to keep honing your skills.
I remember unlocking the phoenix in Evo and thinking it was extremely easy to control. The bike has so much grip on steep inclines. HD didn't really have that and steep hills required much more skill to clear. I also think on HD the learning curve was much slower because of the restrictive handling on the bikes.
I also think HD was a more difficult game overall.
Loved HD tracks. Track Central is the best thing about Evo and very well implemented.

Evo has better physics, but HD has better tracks overall.
Evo has tire glitches (which is a huge competitive downfall), but it also has TC.
I vote Evo.
I vote for Evo, but agree with Xample that the single player tracks in HD had far more enjoyable drivelines. Track Central is the main thing that elevates Evo for me (despite it's other advantages), can't wait to see what it's like in Fusion.

There's no doubt Evo is the more complete game. With TC and MP, the battle is already won. However, making a fun and playable line was easier in HD. The Evo bike has restrictions on it because of the poor front wheel. I feel like you could get away with a lot more varied obstacles in HD as there was almost always a technique for everything. There probably is in Evo too, but the way the bike (front wheel) handles, I feel somewhat limited.
All in all though there's no contest; Evo has a longer life span and is the better game.
HD was a definite NEW game of its kind, and was/is and will always be a 10/10. I think for me personally, and for alot of people too, that EVO was a door opener,as TC gave us a unlimited amount of tracks and talented builders which we might not have otherwise got the chance to play...
So,as much as i do love HD, EVO is as it is called.. A Trials Evolution..![]()
No one builds tracks quite like RedLynx. They have a very unique style and their time savers are just ridiculous. People are still finding new time savers after 2 years. I'm assuming they don't build over-the-top tracks because they need to be certain these tracks will perform in multiplayer. inb4 WOTN
HD will always have a special place in my heart but Evo is a much more complete game. Also, for me personally, Evo has been more of a job than a hobby![]()
I'm not sure if I can make a good decision since I played Evo way more than HD.
So obviously, Evo is a way better game in my eyes.
Playing HD and playing Evo after that, I felt like it was so much smoother.
I like the different environments in Evo, the amazing Track Central/Editor.
Having played Evo first, I don't think I could enjoy HD as much as I would have if I played HD when it came out.
I was so used to Evo that everything kind of felt like a step back to me.
I think it's a good game, I had fun playing it, but it doesn't come close to Evo for me.
