    Re: Trials Fusion Q/A Thread

    Lookin good! {Had to join you on the dancy thing}

That will solve all my worries and problems if TC (and leaderboards would be too if TC is) is crossed; no more worrying about which platform to create tracks on (cause i also want to (make a name (even if small - depending on how good my tracks are ) on PS4) and no more about whether or not to buy a PS4 at all, or do that and don't buy it for XB360, or whatnot..

Also, a question.. If my tracks are good m planning on spending loads of time on this, loads) how can i get them played by more people (using forums), like where do I go on the forums to get a following or people that will befriend my track creating so that i can get on highest rated feeds? f my tracks are good (planning on spending forever on them--!))

    Re: Trials Fusion Q/A Thread

Ok, here is my concern that it seems no one else is having.

Fact:- This game will be on 360 one ps4 and PC.
Therefor ANY cross platform interaction surely means downgrading quality to accommodate the weakest system, in this case, the 360.
As a builder, I am worried that I'm looking forward to an advanced game with the scope to build only limited by my imagination, but what I'll actually get is another 360 trials game ported onto next gen with all the baggage and limitations of the system with it.

In short, is next gen version of game any different to 360 version.

If anything, ninja's should be harder to find since it's not an in-game difficulty...They are almost everytime at the top of the feeds, even highest rated trials is full of them...so I don't see your problem. They should have their own feed, not to be found more easily, but to get them out of the regular feeds
Why would you make them harder to find? I think it would be better to make a Ninja difficulty so people who want Extreme tracks get exactly that and if you want Ninja you can search for them specifically, but I guess we disagree on this subject.

    Track Central cross-platform !!
But I would like to see these words from RedLynx
Seems like awesome news but I have no idea what source that is, is it a review site of some kind? But it is a start.

Is everyone missing the point here,??
Please read my post near the top of this page.
If track Central is cross platform, that means the next gen versions are no more advanced than the 360 version and the next gen editor will be limited to 360 capabilities e.g small file size lag issues lighting issues.
Basically everything we were hoping to be improved on with next gen power will be dragged back by the 360 ball and chain.

    Not entirely true.
Although you are right, there are a few ways that cross platform could be managed. The method that sits at the top of my head is this:
If all platforms contain the same editor objects at the exact same time, then who's to say that the individual placement of each and every object within a map can't be replicated from platform to platform, leaving the picture quality untouched
The leaderboards are easy to have cross-platform too, that is if the manufacturers of these platforms are nice or if there is an external server for the leaderboards alone allowing access to everyone.

Id like to know whether redlynx can share any information on this new 'Teams' feature heading to fusion.

    Re: Trials Fusion Q/A Thread

when we download a track on evo, we are downloading a piece of code, and we all have the same track ...

if the objects are the same name from one version to the other, the same map objects themselves ... I do not see the problem

even our GT must be on the sheet code ...

if there is a problem it is more about interaction platforms and servers ... it seems ...

Straight off the bat then, what happens when I build a track with 3 lights close together on xbox one which tests fine then mr. X downloads it to his 360 and that part of track with the 3 lights lags and creates light blocks etc. how will that work? Same with effects, trees, physics objects etc.

Exactly. If you notice how tiny the file size is for the tracks (especially the really complex tracks) in Evo, you'll see they are ridiculously tiny. This says to me that all that is in there is instructions, not objects themselves, which means the code is only saying, "use this object here." Then it can reference the object in the game itself meaning it can reference an object that looks okay on 360 or an object that looks awesome on XB1 or PS4. So you wouldn't be limited at all by the performance of an inferior machine.

If Track Central turns out to be cross-platform (which I can see possible due to this) I'll be extremely happy with RedLynx for saving me $500 don't plan on getting an XB1 for a while). I've seen on this forum that many of the best track creators are split between the consoles and I don't want to miss out on their content. This game really is a console seller to me. I bought the 360 purely for Trials the weekend before Evo came out. I have a PS4 so I don't have to buy a machine purely for this, but I do want to play all the great TC content. I'll even settle for XB1/360 cross-platform TC since I will be getting it for both 360 and PS4.
