    Re: Download vs Retail

Best Buy does agree on 4/15/2014 as well. Could be just common practice due to the Tuesday standard, but I'm hoping it turns into another day to take off work.

    not always
sometimes they have a steamkey and an installdisc(which you don't even need because you can just enter it in steam and download it) you even need to connect to the internet to install
after install the disc isn't needed anymore

Final fantasy 14 is like this on PS3 as well, once you have installed/registered you dont need the disc to play.

    Re: Download vs Retail

From what i understand, digital is going to be 16th, retail 18th.
Retail is going to come with a uplay code (would definitely not be a steam key i promise), so you wont need the disk at all.
While they haven't said if the preorder content will be available post launch, which for buisness reasons they are not going to confirm, i wouldnt be suprised if it can be purchased as a small DLC for like 1.99$ or something 2-3 months after launch.
Personally, i couldnt care less, so long as the game releases on schedule and with minimal issues, ill be happy.

I'm taking it there is no Deluxe Edition for 360?... I want my bike glowing from Day 1, not months later, especially not for an additional price when I could/would/shouldbeableto pay $40 for it now.

Amazon have sent their retail versions out and they should be with people on the 16th. Also, the deluxe version only costs £28.99 from Amazon as opposed to £32 everywhere else. And that includes the digital version from XBL/PSN etc.

So if you were thinking about getting the season pass as well as the normal digital version, it's cheaper to buy the deluxe retail version from Amazon. That's why I asked the other day how much the digital versions would cost.

Oh well - Amazon pride themselves on getting items to you on time - maybe a little early this time.. good price too though

re: questions about PC install etc - normally with Uplay enabled games - once you install [from disc] - you don't need the disc in the drive to play - I have had no word this game is any different.

You do need to be signed into the account you use to activate the game though - so it knows you own it etc - so standard policy as Steam / Origin.

Remember to keep the disc though - for reinstalling / if you play on multiple PC's
