Yeah I'm not familiar with the Beta/Alpha phases. I know this may be a dumb question (due to the order of the alphabet) but does the Alpha version of a game usually get released before they do a Beta?

Alpha is usually an internal company/developer or friends&family build for games, most times secret to public or under heavy NDA's.

Beta is after that, sometimes split in a Closed(internal/invites/signups/pre-orders) and Open(public) phase, and comes after Alpha.

although you can often find that the definition of these term can wildy vary, certainly in early acces on steam

Yeah Teri is right there, in this case you'd be a Beta tester because it's a minority group that is private.

Still even so I would have someone like you test Vlad.

Close? It says early alpha, that means, don't expect the game within 6 months. Since just a beta usually takes over 2 months.

The question I ask myself is why now? Unless the game is coming out in a month (is it?), most of his viewers will have forgotten about that video by the time the game comes out.

Also I think Rooster Teeth would have been a better choice even if they have a lower number of subscribers (7mil not enough?), they're trials players/fans and would represent the game much better than this guy. But these are just my opinions.

This. I'm sure the "rage quit" of trials Fusion would have been hilarious to watch from Rooster Teeth! ( if people haven't seen it yet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzqtePR5_YE) Wich is basically what pewdie did, but imo he's not nearly as funny.

And I also don't really get this publicity stunts nowadays with alpha builds...Like RL themselves say:

NOTE: This version is an early alpha build and it doesn't reflect the final quality of the game.

Why would you even want to advertise a game in a state like that?

I love the graphic style, great to see gecko in game as well! Has Redlynx shed any light on the possible release date?
