When you do this, you're suppose to do all driver's tests w/ the slower bikes and play the tracks like that. At least that's how I think blaze and venomz did it months back?
Because it took venomz like over an hour. I think it was like an hour and 5 mins or so.
And he's probably the most consistent rider on evo.
I wonder what you guys are doing different?
1 hour... ? The driver's tests add like a few minutes to your time. I think venomz was counting menu time, or maybe he did the single races + the tournaments.Originally Posted by ShartRelief
ur not counting menu time? o.O
how do you manage to time your run then? pretty sure the standard is just to hit start on the watch when you hit the first track and stop when you finish the last track.
Just write the time you do for each track, then add all times at the end and you're donez
that explains why your time seems so fastOriginally Posted by oRziPsyKoZ![]()
When I did it months ago I started the timer as soon as I hit license test and ended it once I had finished all the tracks platinum. You guys just doing 1 run on each track without any restarts? If so is there any proof or video evidence or is it just everyone should trust what you guys get. Just saying cause I'm sure if more people start to do it and people get competitive then there is always that one ... ******** who will lie to look good if you follow what I'm saying.
Also, doing it the way you're doing it, what happens if you fault before a 1st checkpoint? Is that just cancelled out or do you carry on as if it never happened?
The only reason I thought about doing it this way was because sometimes when you go through the menu's too quick during a speed run it doesn't load the stage you entered, it loads the one after so you end up skipping a track. And sometimes I didn't even notice until a few stages later that I had missed one unintentionally.
I'm happy for everyone interested in doing this to work out some more ground rules and fine tune everything so we are all on the same page. At the moment it's just purely for fun and not really a serious competitive thing.
I think that is part of the technique of the run, you have to get good at menu navigation just like anything else. The best way to remain legitimate is to just start and stop the clock at the beginning and end, no calculations after the fact. Over on gold some of us have been doing any% runs which you can check out on twitch.tv. It's not exactly the same because we can reset save files, and have access to HD but it might help out defining a rule set for running on Xbox. Something to note: the format u see blaze muzza and vantier doing is the one that has been accepted to AGDQ later this year.Originally Posted by xGetWhatYouGive
I don't think license tests should be included on the Xbox. on PC sure, because you need to do them to progress don't you? if including menus is the norm then I would rather change the format. if this is going get competitive then it needs to be legitimate you're right.
so, start timer at on Ridge Racer after 3 2 1 and stop at crossing finish line on Inferno 3. all tracks in order including menu navigation. excluding skill games. does this suit everyone?
License tests are mandatory to progress on the xbox I'm fairly certain, and you need to unlock the bikes along the way too. Also, getting platinum on all tracks seems like a good challenge opposed to just finishing the tracks. Imo it should be kept the way blaze and venomz have done it.Originally Posted by xGetWhatYouGive
