Dam only like 16 spaces left for people to join! Might be full up by the time the tournament starts :O every rider has to play the same amount of games I believe?
64 people starts in the winner bracket, splits into half and half after the first game but no one goes out.
2nd game 16 people go out for good, and 16 more go into the loser bracket.
3rd game another 16 go out for good, and 8 go into the loser bracket.
4th game 12 go out and then 4 go into the loser bracket.
5th game 8 go out and 2 go into the loser bracket.
6th game 5 go out and 1 goes into the loser bracket
Then there is 1 left in the winner bracket and 5 in the loser bracket, so how would you have games with 5 people, making it fair still.
Doesn't have to be that way depending on how he makes the brackets work. If you look at my tournament you will see how it can work. The people in the losers bracket will have to play more games than the ppl in the winners bracket thoughOriginally Posted by NSPIVeNoMz
Thanks for letting me in Classy!
just a few tips about the tournament because i have hosted one quite similar.
-We had some issues with people not showing up or not being online at the same time, you should have a rule in place to kick people out if the have been inactive for some time (with a big tournament like this i think you will have to keep it short, like a week max) to avoid the tournament taking too long.
- it could also be easier to match people up depending on what time zone they are in (its really hard for ppl from the Us and Australia to be online at the same time for instance)
-you should have a couple of friends ready to help host tracks, especially in the beginning, because its a lot of work. they can also be helpful when two competitors are online but you are not.
-A friend of mine, Redl1nk made a very useful excel sheet to put the tournament results in, if you want i could ask him to email it to you (i don't have the file anymore) so you could modify it to hold up to 64 players
These are just tips i came up with from my earlier experience, do with them what you want.
How are you guys going to match up players? What happens if you guys match up someone of low rank against someone like Lucid? Say, for example (just using as an example) Loeka goes up against Lucid? Lucid obviously knows every track inside and out and Loeka could too but Lucid has much much more experience on every track. How are you guys going to deal with something like that?
