I dislike the way to unlock those 6 new tracks. Is a matter of luck. My Slot Machine is at level 10 atm, but just unlocked 3 of them so far, great tracks, I like them!

-New and improved fuel system. More fuel, more races, more tank upgrades, and WAY CHEAPER!
WAY CHEAPER?? I canīt find what is cheaper... now 5 or 7 fuel cans are necessary to play a track.... The bikes upgrades still are extremly expensive and the packs have the same price as previously. We can earn coins faster using the Magnet power-up also on the Slot Machine, but as I said before I canīt find any cheaper option... maybe Iīm missing something...
-Have you ever defeated a friend and wished you could rub it in a little harder? You can now with the ability to share your victorious photo finish with friends across ALL THE SOCIAL NETWORKS!
An incomplete feature imo. I guess this option is just for marketing purposes but it could be way better, the option to challenge a friend via Twiter or Facebook on an track with a reward of 3+/- gems for winning the challenge would be great!
Or a daily reward of 3 gems for sharing a photo?
Hope you guys add to the game a real "challenge a friend" mode!
-Hot new POWER-UPS are now available! The Super Magnet, Turbo Booster, and mysterious Rarified Fuel will boost your game to the next level!
The Super Magnet: I like this one due to the upgrading prices are extremely high!! But is not enough imo, I have bought few packs and played it alot but still no one of my bikes are fully upgraded. Mantis fully upgrade cost is about 2.000.000 coins, probably more. thatīs crazy since the reward on a track is less than 1.000 coins...
Turbo Booster: Bad idea imo!! not sure how it works, if this Turbo Booster gives more power on a fully upgraded bikes it will ruin the game in my opinion.
Rarified Fuel: The best of them. I like the idea of playing Frontier without fuel limitations but that one is the hardest to get on the slot machine... I noticed that each new level on the Slot Machine brings new and better rewards so maybe the Rarified Fuel power-up will be included at some point....
-If you thought Trials Frontier looked good before just wait until you see the NEW AND IMPROVED GRAPHICS!
I really like the new graphics! Lots of new effects, but those "animated coins" brings lag sometimes... I guess you can decrease the amount of coins for a better performance...
-Missions have been massaged and soaked in milk for an even smoother playing experience. Stuck in a super tough spot? Give it another try after getting this amazing update!
The Slot Machine can bring really hard challenges! If you hate or you cant complete any of those challenges, just wait for a refresh, so not a problem at all.![]()
-Track balancing, Garage UI improvements, and we fixed the bugs ALL OF THEM! Maybe...

What about the waiting time after an upgrade. 72 hours? really?? hope this is a bug.

Overall thoughts:
At first(before the update) I said that there are too many things involved over the playability and now there are way more... A "simply game" turned into a "complex game"... still not sure what to think... I really enjoy play Frontier but.... this "new" concept for a trials game probably ruin it.
Since the game dont have editor mode, the game is purely based on speedrun so all those restrictions are killing the game...
A challenge mode or some new feature are necessary imo...
Thanks for the thorough review MaTi, just re-affirmed for me why I am not going to get this game, and saved me some cash and frustration (not that I wouldn't be very willing to pay a lot for a one-off purchase of course, I absolutely would).Originally Posted by MaTiSpOrT

Although I said that there are too many thing involved on the gameplay, the game is way better now. The Slot Machine is a great add for the game.
Since the last update I have earned around 700.000 coins, lots of gems and boosters.
Itīs free, so I recommend you download the game and try it yourself.![]()
You can play the game without buy any pack, but upgrade all the bikes will take LONG time to. If you want to be competitive that fact can be frustrating, thatīs all.

About the Slot Machine bug, now I know when it happens, that bug appears when touching fast more than once the "Speed Up" option.

There's little chance of me not at least giving it a go (it's Trials after all!), but I despise F2P and will not be spending any real money on any sort of upgrade system. I don't mind a) playing for a long time to progress with upgrades that are hard to earn, and/or b) paying a (generous) upfront 'all-in' fee however.Originally Posted by MaTiSpOrT

espessially the boost thing being a game breaker. even terms are a prerequisite for racing games.

My slot machine is broken in my game so it's almost impossible to level up any of my bikes now. Basically my slot machine is at level 16 but my rewards got reset to level 1. Eg. When I spin for my reward I get things like 10 gold or 10 XP making it:
A. Take a whole lot of playing, every half hour, say 20 times on the slot machine in a day, only to level up maybe 1/10th of the slot machine.
B. When I win Gems, it's only 2 or 4 gems.
C. Since it's lucky if I get only over 3,000 coins in one spin, it's taking me an impossible about of time to earn even a cheap upgrade like 50,000.
This occurred when I went to spin the slot machine but didn't have enough fuel for the race. As I didn't want to 15 min for my fuel to reload, I exited the game. When I came back 2 hours later and opened up my game on my iPad mini retina, everything seemed fine. It's after I passed the challenge that I noticed my rewards were really low. I was close to level 16 on the slot machine so I thought when I leveled up maybe it would fix itself, but it hasn't. My only reward was that I got 2 gems now = 4 gems and and a small coin upgrade, but that's it!
I spent money in the beginning as I didn't get an iPad til around New Years. I was excited to have the oppurtunity to get some of that $ back with the slot machine.
In response to this, I will not be playing Trials Frontier til they can fix this glitch.

Hey guys, I'm the lead designer on Trials Frontier, we've been working like crazy to first bring the game out for soft launch and now to work on bigger and better features which you can see the first of with the Slot Machine, and there are even cooler big new features still to come!
I first wanted to thank everyone for playing the game and for providing all this great feedback. Myself and the rest of the team have read each and every post and had many discussions about the compliment and concerns you have all been raising. We want to make the best game possible for both our long term hard core players and the new guys we are trying to bring into the Trials fold - this can be at odds with each other at time but we hope to find the right balance.
I especially have to give a shout out to MaTiSpOrT as he is a mega beast on the Frontier leaderboards and pretty much a legend around the office. Especially while working on our latest feature (soon to come!) you might here someone in the halls say ("man, I just hope I don't get MaTiSpOrt!"). it's not just your *** kicking on the leaderboards but also your contribution on the forums has been awesome and helped shape many conversations around the changes we are making currently.
To comment on a few of your points MaTiSpOrT:

I'm really glad you like the new levels, I do as well, especially the most difficult (and hardest to win) track "Casino Rooftop". These tracks really show how much our level design team has grown during the development of the project as these were the most recent tracks they have built.
Regarding the way they are unlocked - I really wanted to give out some tracks to our more "elite" players, the people who are really engaged and playing all the time. While it IS luck based to win a track, the more you play in a day the greater your chance is of winning, and if you use the slot machine as often as possible in a day (no speedups needed, but of course the always might help!) you have a VERY good chance of winning the most difficult daily prize, which is often a new track.

The infamous fuel system...It actually is MUCH cheaper to upgrade and refill your tank in this new version of the game and ALSO 50% cheaper to race tier 2 tracks (it was 2 times the cost of tier 1, now it is 1.5 times the cost). We did not make any changes to the bike upgrade costs since the slot machine adds a HUGE additional injection of coins into the game.

We love seeing comments like this from the players and it always goes into our discussion of which features to do next. As fans of the games ourselves we totally understand how awesome this type of feature would be...and since we are trying to make an awesome game, you might be able to guess the type of features you might see in the future!

Glad you like the boosts! (mostly) Rarified fuel is specifically for the type of player that really doesn't like the fuel system and gives the the option to play for a full hour without any worries, combo that with the coin doubler and you can make some big bucks in that one hour!
Regarding the Booster, this is something we have talked about a LOT before including it in the game and we decided on a way to do boosts that we think is fair and not pay to win, as this is the last thing we would want to have in a Trials game. To be clear about the boost, it WILL NOT let you boost your bike above the max up-gradable level. This is mentioned in the tutorial but maybe not clear enough. So if you actually do happen to have a maxed our Tango for example through upgrades, a Turbo Boost would not really help. Instead we see this to be used by players who are having a hard time beating a mission ghost (we've seen some players have a really tough time with Leroy at times for example) and of course to get that little extra boost when trying to set best times or beat friends ghosts. Any more thoughts you guys have on this would be great, but I hope this makes it a bit more clear.

We're super happy with how the new backgrounds and lighting changes have improved the game, and there is MORE TO COME!We'll look into the coin performance issue.

Really appreciate this feedback, we've really tried to not hurt the competition and "going for speed runs" idea (which is why restarts are entirely free for as much as you want once you enter a race) so I would be interested in what restrictions to you are hurting the game. We have some new stuff coming that should make the game much more challenging to players that are looking for a much more difficult experience.

I am up to date and ready to get back into Frontier. I stopped as the mission I got up to required a disgusting ammount of grinding to complete. Luckily with the update the mission requirements seemed to have changed and upon opening the app I was moved onto the next level
I'll have a play around later and give some feedback.
@Mr. Swan. Any word on the slot machine glitch? I love the new changes to the game, but as this is a pretty big glitch, I'm unable to upgrade my bike unless I want to pay more money (Got the online receipts too).
I know people have been "jail breaking" their iPad or iPhone to upgrade their bikes for free. I know what a prison break is, but you got me on how or what jail breaking a device actually is.
I'm a firm believer in not cheating the system, as is why I think I'm the only person in Orange County, CA that still buys actually music CD's.
Anyway, can't wait to see what's to come. But if you could at least release a patch to fix that glitch I'd greatly appreciate it. Even if the patch sends me back a level or two on the slot machine, at least it would be working properly again.
